  1. wait dont we have a double header tomorrow? wouldnt that mean pedro gets action against the yankees, or am i messed up (which is quite possible )
  2. well so far through this game the infield looks pretty screwed up, but whatever works..
  3. whats gunna help ortiz is the attitude he has displayed most of the season. people need to realize that is not the real ortiz that appeared, even though what he did was inexcusable. i heard that luchino (sp?) was talking to the MLB and he described ortizs personality and his characteristics. i also heard that because of these facts, it is possible that it may be only a 2 game suspension. hopefully he can just take it off now vs baltimore and hope it doesnt cut into the yankee series.
  4. well, this goes back to nomar and randy being connected with each other in trades, but um, is it just me? or do i remember that at the end of the season, theo was gunna look at a certain FA...named edgar renteria? this way it would be easy to give up nomar and have pokey at SS and bellhorn at 2B for the rest of the season. is it just me...or do i remember the sox doing better when nomar was out?
  5. Bedard 3-4, 3.90 @ Martinez 10-3, 3.64 all i can say is...IT FEELS DAMN GOOD TO BE HOME. we got pedro pitching tonight, the hot m's with their new AAA players against the M's, and tonight looks good. i say we at least take the wild card lead tonight. i think foulke will settle down (even though hes already blown as many saves as his season total from last year). yanks take on toronto...not sure about that one. im confident about this homestand, if we get a sweep of the yanks, which would be nice and is quite possible if we get the defense and offense down, which we have to rely on a lot for the upcoming yankee series, as we have contreras and their other low pitchers, thankfully not their ace vazquez, as he is pitching on the 21st too. this means we will have arroyo, lowe and schilling (in some weird order) for the yankee series. remember we have the double header on teh 22nd. GO SOX!
  6. i live right on the boston/newton borderline, right off comm ave.
  7. I GIVE UP!!!! FOULKE U f***ER I HATE U!!! god almighty im in a bad mood before boones walk off GS and now im in an even bigger one...THANKS A LOT FOULKE...LESKANIC ITS NOT YOUR FAULT BUT FOULKE UVE GOT PROBLEMS BUCKY OL PAL. GO BACK TO OAKLAND AND DO WELL, IT DOESNT MATTER IF WE BROUGHT U OVER HERE TO SAVE GAMES, GO AHEAD AND BLOW SAVES SOMEWHERE ELSE f***ER.
  8. Lowe 7-9, 5.67 @ Pineiro 5-10, 4.47 one word...f***. lowe needs to prove something at this game. if he cant win this game than hes got some serious issues to work out.
  9. WAY TO GIVE BRONSON A NO DECISION f*** I MEAN FOULKE. this is exactly y bronson has no respect for his record. the bullpen blows everything or the offense doesnt hit. foulke is worrying me...i think his days in a white sock uniform are creeping up on him...
  10. Arroyo 3-7, 4.09 @ Villone 3-2, 3.31 seattle has a AAA like team, but the sox are struggling to win on the road. lets take sundays win into monday and open a can of whoop ass on a sorry excuse for a team. arroyo is a young pitcher, who is misrepresented by his poor record. he has a lot of talent and potential and can hopefully show whats to come in the future in this game. go sox, and keep the hitting that gave us the win on sunday the win tomorrow, the bats finally come alive.
  11. we all need to remember, he is a young pitcher who was put into a great deal of competetiveness, and for that, his talent will grow like never before in a pitcher we have seen. his record may not be the greatest, but his talent will grow with every year that builds up to his prime. remember, he could be one of the young players the d-backs are looking for, but dont know about . he is a great pitcher that will bring a lot to the table come 2005-07, and more.
  12. delgado doesnt want to waive his no trade clause in his contract. and u never know, because olerud may need a change of scenery. and we do have enough bats, but if we could get a gold glover at first base that would be awesome.
  13. no, the bats landed about a foot away from one umpire. u cant blame the home plate umpire for ortiz throwing bats, thats just unacceptable. u can blame the ump for ortiz getting steamed up and yelling, but u cant blame the umpire for getting ortiz suspended...ortiz got himseld suspended, and even though milton bradley caused a lot of clean up, the bats almost hit an umpire, and ur right they landed on the first base line...where the umps were standing!!!!
  14. happy b-day zenny, and its pretty hard to think when the whole game the ump has been stinking up the calls and then u lose ur mind. it was about time someone let the ump know his crapiness. and also david losing his mind that bad about the ump says something to the ump: damn i pissed that guy off... he probly got the message after that whole shpeil (sp?)
  15. u are correct. the cubbies need a SS-nomar, zona wants top prospects-cubbies, we want RJ-zona. YAY! except its just that i have a feeling the spankies are gunna end up with something anyway. after all, i do agree with ELS, i have a sinking feeling. i want to be wrong, BUT, theres nothing keeping the spankies from doing a three way like we are, unless steinbrenner is to fat in the head also to get confused by a three team trade. and the cubbies cant be the only team with top prospects either. hell would freeze over however before steinbrenner sent jeter to the cubs, so he will probably look somewhere else. i just dont want RJ to go anywhere, i wont be disappointed if we dont get him, if we do i would love it, but i would just hate to see him in pinstripes, which is unfortunately what i think is going to happen. if hes interested in the series, he will think of NY first, as when u think of world series its usually NYY (sadly) that comes into my head first.
  16. knowing ortiz, it takes a lot to piss someone like him off. the truth was, the umpire last night sucked, and i mean SUCKED. sucked as much as the mlb should really do something about him. david ortiz doesnt get pissed off that much, and i was amazed at how he ripped like that. but anyway, its gunna be hard to win games without ortiz, and i agree with u, we need him for this NYY series, or we are toast. at least for the series we have pedro pitching in it. oakland lost to the white sox tonight. time to take sole possession of the wild card tonight boys!!
  17. as much as id like to agree with u, 6+ seems more like the reality. there is no excuse for what he did, like milton bradley, but what milton bradley did didnt come close to harming one of the umpires. david ortiz was pissed off and he threw two bats that almost hit an umpire, thats what i think is gunna get him 2-3 games more than 4.
  18. yeah i already gave the stats...but thats a cool way of doing it. anyway, colon has been very disappointing this season for anaheim. even though i doubt we will get RJ, RJ is very interested in looking at anaheim, and somewhat at the sox. if we can demolish colon today and show y RJ should come to boston, that would be huge, even though im sure his decision wont lie on one game and on one pitcher. the early lead will help us, and god help us...plaese keep millar out of there i cant stand his s*** anymore. tito-ur strong, i cant believe u held back ortiz like that ortiz-dont pull another dumbass thing like that again, although we all understand your annoyance with the ump
  19. lets get this AL wildcard back in our sole position, lets go red and white...SOX!!!
  20. and thats the ball game, a much deserved, well played, much needed win. this is what the second half of 2004 should look like for us, with the exception of the whole ortiz deal... and even with the s*** the umpire called behind the plate tonight we stuck in there and got the win. congrats sox. now its time for mlb to do something about that ump, if every game he umps is like this theres no wonder y players get pissed off, that was brutal. GREAT PLAYING SOX, now jump on colon tomorrow. here we go. after tonights game, we are tied with oakland for the lead in AL wild card race. anaheim is now 1.5 back in AL wil card i believe.
  21. i agree with the third first baseman. they have clark and giambi, and clark has been a good starter for while giambi has been out. i dont see y they need to bring in a backup for the backup. and dont u hate it how clark is having a beastly season in NY while back in boston he couldnt hit water if he fell out of a goddamn boat?
  22. BOS-Wakefield: 5-5, 4.17 ERA @ ANA-Colon: 6-8, 6.38 ERA colon has been a disappointment to the angels this year, and with his unusually and unrespectable ERA, the sox should look to capitalize on mistake pitches, and get the hit and run going. getting men on base and knocking them in with hits is how to wins games, not depending on HRs. the sox should win if we get the offense jumping early and wake has his curve and knuckleball going. its unfortunate for the angels to have to face pedro the night before and then the slow pitching wakefield the next day. GO SOX! i know i posted this a little early im just eager to start one of these for some reason...
