  1. i really wanted to see him in the ASG
  2. hahahah yeah i think he is
  3. im starting to go with zenny and the billy bean theory...unfortunately for tek
  4. yup, if anything i like pats more, but im diehard sox fan too, i seriously cant choose between the two
  5. ortiz, im just saying the possibilitys of both, if u didnt read my clemens thing carefully enough, which u probably didnt, i clearly stated the roger thing if we dont get RJ
  6. with clemens u never know...his kids would love to see him win another ring, even if its not in houston...if it were my dad moving to houston, sure it would be hard, but i would love it if he won another ring.
  7. o now i get it, thanks for the fill in , but i still think mirabelli is a decent, if not better, catcher
  8. heres my justification on why clemens would come to boston, and this would only happen if we were not able to grab randy johnson, and yes hear me out, i know he most likely wouldnt come because of his family, but truthfully...im not so sure about that: 1. he sees how good the sox are doing, which of late, is a very true statement to make, the astros lose sight of the wild card, and he waives his no trade clause. 2. baseball is a business...THE MONEY WE OFFER. please, any pitcher would take a lot of money to play in boston. the players go where the money is. 3. because he still has respect and connections to boston 4. because everyone would like to be on the redsox team that finally wins the world series before the so called "curse" expires, the redsox "reverse the curse" team that is, and he would love to be a part of it, as he was one of the best pitchers the redsox ever had, and dont talk about pedro please, hes the best pitcher htat may have ever walked the earth, and yes pedro is great and one of a kind, but for his time, clemens is the best. 5. BECAUSE BOSTON WOULD LOVE HIM BACK AND HIS FAMILY WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM WIN A WORLD SERIES THERE!!! are u telling me that his family wouldnt want to see him win a world series where he began his stellar perfect career? if RJ doesnt come here, u can bet clemens is a possibility. and also, how cool would it be to see RJ vs Clemens in game 7 of the ALCS?? doesnt matter which team either pitches for, but how cool would that be.
  9. seriously, i dont think we will have use for shoppach next year. the two guys we are resigning for next year, i strongly bet, are v-tek, and pedro. thats it. no nomar, and obviously not lowe. if the d-backs want young talented prospects, then they can get them from here. example: kelly shoppach. talented young kid who will make impacts later in his career. if we want randy johnson, than the d-backs are gunna look for major prospects like shoppach. and if v-tek is insured to stay...then well, trade shoppach for someone worthwhile...hint hint like randy johnson
  10. i agree with u in every aspect of what u wrote. as i was watching the game, i posted soemthing about mirabelli and how underrated he is in the july 11th game discussion. anyway, i was looking at his numbers and his performance while watching the game, and i have to say im surprised by his nice performances when he plays. even though its only 1 every 5 games, when he does play, he makes big impacts and gets it done. hes proven to me he should get more playing time. and goin on the leaving pitchers in an inning too late. dont get me wrong, foulke is a great closer, but when u put him in in the eighth he wont get the save for u in the ninth. hes not a mariano rivera. and francona is definitely no joe torry (who by the way, is in my eye a graet manager). but however, remember that horrifying yankeee game that they came from behind in extra innings? who could forget it? thats simply some stupid managing, leaving leskanic in one too many innings. hes not a long reliever, hes more of a setup man, after all he replaced scott williamson. and this goes with every damn thing people say about curses. THERES NO FRIGGIN CURSE!!! every bad thing that happens to us is purely bad managing. bill buckner, we should have put someone in at first base who can play defense, who has knees, and can get three outs to insure a world series win. also in that fateful game, the pitcher was struggling...get him out of there!!!!! last year? pedro should have come out of the game and embree shoulda outgone in. this is what im talking about...ITS JUST BAD GODDAMN MANAGING. or, the other team is purely better, like the reds beating us back in the carlton fisk era...but, hopefully francona will come around and learn that this is boston, and we want to win more than any other team out there, and we yearn for it more than any other team out there. and yes...damon is jesus--> :damon:
  11. dont kill me for sayin this, but i tihnk it was the final out when pokey was picked off, i mean safe. but still, like i said before, if the ball beats u like that and ur caught off guard, u will never get the call. and truthfully, even though the pitch did look bad, bellhorn needs to swing the bat more. he always goes down with the bat on his shoulders. SWING THE DAMN BAT. and also, i just think the pitch was framed poorly, it was a screwball.
  12. pokey was safe, but still, that doesnt matter, to be caught off guard that like there is no excuse. the pitcher and 1Bman will always get that call if the ball beats u there...hopefully bellhorn gets a tongue-lashing after today. let me tell u something tho, im happy johnny extended his hitting streak!!!
  13. im gunna say ortiz, not just because hes from boston, but hes got the full body strength. and i still cant believe griffey is missing the ASG because of another hamstring injury...he needs some serious problems to be sorted out.
  14. who called the strikeout looking??? I DID!!!
  15. lol...i cant believe that just happened...great and bellhorns up, ready for a bat leaning on the shoulder giant fat K...
  16. whoa, in anticipation of the 500 HR+ hitters, one will be missing, as ken griffey jr has been placed on the 15 day dl with a ripped right hamstring...how disappointing, i wanted to see him in the derby real bad too
  17. breaking news!!!! so close to the all star game and...GRIFFEY RIPS HIS RIGHT HAMSTRING!!!
  18. yeah it would be...wow repetitive posts...but it does sound cool
  19. Pats-Sox (Both teams I give my attention to year-round) . Bruins . . . . . . . .Celtics Revs dont even make the list I couldnt care less about soccer
  20. i just saw mirabelli go deep gangster style, and u know what, im starting to realize how overlooked mirabelli has been this year. even though he only plays in 1 game every 5, his numbers, to me, look better than they normally have been for every game...YEA DAMON JUST HIT ANOTHER DINGER TO TIE IT YAY...16 GAME HIT STREAK WOOHOO...cave man look is paying off. anway, back to mirabelli, i dont see why he cant get the starting nod if varitek leaves, id love to hear what u people have to say about it, but i mean, if we are going to get RJ, we need to trade top prospects like shopach (sp?). just a thought for another forum subject possibly...
  21. going back to the zenny post about millwood and cash for lowe and mendoza...the scenery would be quite the favor for lowe. he would be seeing his old pitching coach, who could we forget?, joe kerrigan in philly. and if we correctly remember, lowe never pitched better than with kerrigan. personally, i feel bad for this guy, and i would like to see him do well with someone he can work with well. like im happy to see hatteberg doing well in oakland.
  22. im undecided too, but they should just rename the game to a lot of yankees and a few others vs the NL. i mean look at the infield...everyones a yankee or was last year. 1B-giambi (ortiz should be here, giambi will do sqwat, and this is where the AL will fall apart, just what we need, some guy with bugs in his intestines. sorry that was mean, but still, hes not that good as he used to be) 2B-soriano (i agree with this one) SS-jeter (has anyone noticed since that so called "leadership" catch 5 rows into the stands he has gotten more attention than ever, come on people, pokeys just as good defensively, but i mean he got like 6 feet of air with that catch a few weeks ago, but jeters a yankee, so tthats y, and yes i know pokey wouldnt play SS and i know he wouldnt make all star team, i think guillen should start here instead, hes been solid ALL season and not just some of it, also i think mike young should start) 3B-a-rod (ok fine) ALL YANKEES..AHH. but the bottom line is, most of the AL team is good, i mean look at last year, anything can happen, especially if u have HANK BLALOCK
  23. hopefully curt and randy can talk at the all star game and curt can tell randy about the diehard fans we are. we have accepted him different than the yankee fans would have. now, im not saying we dont expect winning, because we do want it very bad, but i think the yanks would have been something like this: "look its schilling! hes so good! now that hes a yankee hes my favorite! now do the winning before we boo you." sox fans want our pitchers to win, but we dont force it upon them, yes they are suppose to earn their contract, but we dont expect the winning in the ways of NY. they expect a world series championship every year. we die for one. we applaud a players EFFORT AND PERFORMANCE. NOT JUST PERFORMANCE. a lot of yanks fans, not all of them, dont know just how sweet winning feels because they get too much of it.
  24. oh no, i agree with u, but im just saying that the astros, the team, may possibly try to trade him back to the AL east for some good prospects, if they fall out of the wild card race. i know that theres no possibility of him leaving houston, because i know he came out of retirement to play one more year for his family in his hometown and he wouldnt leave. however, if we had the chance, im saying i would love to have him back. i know it wont happen, but i would like to have it happen. i even heard on espn, while they were talkin about rocket and RJ trades, how cool it owuld be if it was RJ for the sox and the rocket for the yankees in game 7 of the '05 ALCS...but like that would happen...
