  1. Pena wins with 11 in the finals over Gonzalez.
  2. It's very possible they're showcasing him to Toronto. As someone said in the other thread, before it was announced that Buchholz would be starting on Friday, the Jays were scouting him. Normally I think mlbtraderumors is full of s***, but this time the report does make some sense.
  3. Who is everyone piggybacking for the home run derby? I'm going to take Carlos Pena.
  4. I mean, I'd rather see Nomar I guess, but I doubt either one of them would be in the game in a situation like that, especially in a game of that importance. To me it's a wash personally, because the confidence I have in Nomar is not that much greater than the confidence I have in Bates.
  5. 1) It really depends on the score, how quickly the pitchers are working in between pitches, etc. I would say count on at least 3 hours, but it could stretch out to 4 or 4 and a half hours. It could also be as short as two and a half hours, but normally games run longer than normal than shorter. 2) Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond in the middle of the eighth inning. Take Me Out to the Ballgame in the middle of the seventh. 3) Anything you want at Fenway. The Italian Sausages are awesome, Fenway Franks (hot dogs), cheeseburgers, lots of beer, etc etc. It is VERY expensive, so bring a lot of money. Have fun! It will be an awesome experience. Your English is pretty good.
  6. He may not ever be the same after getting his s*** kicked in like that. He'll be okay, but I doubt he fights the same way ever again. He was knocked out cold BEFORE that 2nd vicious punch when he fell to the ground was landed.
  7. lol, slow fight, but Lesnar just beat the s*** out of Mir at the end there.
  8. Melancon is my friend's sister's fiancee.
  9. He has 3-way sex by himself because he ran out of women.
  10. We'll have to agree to disagree, but I'm maintaining my stance that who you bring into a game out of the bullpen is far more important than having good team chemistry (which I will always believe to be incredibly overrated). I've played on teams with people who strongly dislike each other. Come game time, the differences are set aside because everyone wants to win. If my high school football and baseball teams can do that, professionals certainly can.
  11. I'm saying that I believe this statement to be entirely false. It's nice to have happy players, but it isn't going to give you a world series title. If professionals need to be happy (see: Randy Moss in Oakland ... he shouldn't have even bothered coming onto the field - let's not go into other sports though, because I believe football to be a completely different sport in terms of locker room chemistry) in order to perform well, they're far too selfish to be on a professional team. We may have to agree to disagree, but I believe you can look in the Bronx to find an example of a team who seems to have pretty s***** chemistry but wins anyway and has players who want to return.
  12. His name is Russell. His mother still should have known better.
  13. I'm not saying it doesn't help to keep everyone happy, but it's not necessary. It may help to get certain players to want to return to the team during FA. Other than that, I certainly don't believe it adds to the win column.
  14. I don't know how his mother took herself seriously when she was laying in the bed after her delivery and said, "I shall name you Rusty, Rusty Kuntz."
  15. I would argue that the New York Yankees do not have the best team chemistry. Especially with an idiotic manager. With their salaries (their = baseball players in general, not only the Yankees), there is no excuse to not put aside their differences while they are on the field.
  16. Wow, the CAPS were really short lived. That's a good sign.
  17. Chemistry is extremely overrated. If you are a professional athlete and your performance suffers because you don't like someone on the team or how certain things are run, you shouldn't be a pro.
  18. EH, RIGHT NOW IS FINE. THEY'RE ABOUT TO TAKE THE FIELD. CLOSE ENOUGH. HOWEVER, THE FIRST PITCH WAS SCHEDULED FOR 7:10, AND IT IS NOW 7:11. EDIT: COMPUTER CLOCK FAIL. MINE SAYS 7:12, TALKSOX'S SAYS 7:08.
  19. SIGNIFICANTLY UNDER, CONSIDERING I HAVE 40 POSTS PER PAGE. CAPS MOJO COMMENCE!
  20. Yeah, I don't use personal characteristics in determining who I like. If he's an animal at what he does, he's an animal at what he does. Floyd Mayweather is also a douche, but I love how he boxes.
  21. No, quite a range of them. There was a different one every time I started a gamethread until I got tired of using them, haha.
  22. Happy birthday! I'll be having birthday cake because it's actually my brother's as well. Hope it's been a good one.
