Even from the reactionary posts, I still don't get the vibe that anyone thinks this season is over. I'm being realistic. This team needs a bat or a pitcher ... just SOMETHING. If they get Halladay, I'll be happy. If they decide to address the lineup, I'll be happy. We can live with our lineup as is if we add Halladay, and we can live with our rotation as is if we add a bat. Whatever Theo decides, he has to do something.
The vibe I'm getting is that the Red Sox as currently constructed are not a better team than the Yankees as currently constructed, and that in order to be sure that we stay competitive, we need to make a move at the deadline. I don't think that's unreasonable, and I certainly don't think that's the same as saying the season is over.
