  1. I agree they'll regress. However, I believe that this Yankees team is more indicative of what was to be expected of them coming into the season.
  2. Even still. At the end of this night, barring a comeback (and if that happens, praise Jesus), we will be tied for first place. I see the Yankees winning 58-60% of their remaining games. I see the Red Sox winning around 55-56%. If a move is made, that will change. I'm not making any groundbreaking statements here. We need to make a move, and then I will feel better about our chances. Whether it is Halladay or a bat, the team will be good enough to give me confidence in an AL East title this year. I don't have that confidence right now, and haven't for awhile ever since Lowell went down.
  3. Yeah, except this time they're fully rested and aren't facing their damn kryptonite right after they tie us. And they're also on a f***ing roll. They'll regress, but not enough for me to think that we can keep up. I do expect the Yankees to at least win 58-60% of their remaining games. I also feel that the Rays significantly underperformed in the first half, and will be right on our ass come mid-August if not in a week with the way things are going recently.
  4. We need to make a trade. I don't give a f*** if it's for Halladay or for Holliday (c wut i did thar), but we need something. What isn't rational is suggesting that everything is going to be okay.
  5. Well, now that it has taken the Yankees all of 4 games to erase the 3-game lead we had going into the all-star break, I guess we should just sit idly and wait for them to beat themselves. That'll work. If this team stays constructed this way, a 3rd place finish is in our sights. And that, my friend, is not good enough. For what it's worth, I'm not saying the offense doesn't need to be addressed, but I'm getting annoyed watching more than one 5th starter in our rotation.
  6. Oh. Well in that case, f*** that s***. Ricciardi is in a good spot - he doesn't need or necessarily even want to get rid of him, and he's perfectly content having Halladay stay. It's a win-win for him - either he gets to keep one of the top pitchers in baseball, or he hauls in quite the package to unload him. As far as Halladay's right to demand a trade goes, most GMs allow a negotiating window. This seems like one of those rare circumstances where that option could very well be put into play if Halladay doesn't win this year wherever he goes or just doesn't like it. If a team had the opportunity to extend him, it would probably be better for all parties involved. If Ricciardi is that satisfied with keeping Halladay in Toronto, more power to him.
  7. Yes, but that would instantly deter a team like Colorado from getting into the negotiations. That said, I don't think Halladay goes there anyway. I think it's still something to consider, but I would bet you that this specific concern would be handled during trade talks.
  8. This is going to start some type of political debate. ATTN: everyone, pleeeeeeeeeease don't start talking about whether or not you're in favor of universal health care or not. I'm thinking that I'm going to crack open a Magic Hat during the game, and therefore that will be the mojo of choice tonight. Anyone disagree?
  9. Okay, I'm open to suggestions for the mojo. Any ideas?
  10. Should be a good game. Win it. 11. I don't think he has an agenda. If anything, I'm glad they got to rest.
