  1. I hate how many cups there are in soccer. That's the one thing. I only pay attention to the World Cup, the Champions League, and the national leagues (like the Premier League for England, La Liga for Spain, etc). Chelsea can take the FA Cup. Too bad they didn't get the one they really wanted.
  2. I'm glad you explained Bay and Youk instead of just labeling them as dropoffs. Yeah, they've dropped off, but from a superhuman level (as you noted), and the production we are continuing to get from them is still excellent.
  3. For the first time since the end of 2006...isn't that a reason to perhaps not crow a bit? I hadn't even realized that the Yanks had been out of first for so long until they made it back. Isn't that more of an embarrassing position to gloat from?
  4. Tallet looks like a little bitch. If they really want to pay someone to do what Ortiz is doing, I would do it for them for much cheaper.
  5. He was trying to catch a foul ball but accelerated near the wall. He slid and smacked his knee against it.
  6. Against Tallet, I was half-expecting some weak contact. But I knew the K was most likely.
  7. Wells really wasn't that bad in the year we traded him to SD. Especially when you consider what you would have expected out of him. He had the most enormous belly out of anyone I had ever seen pitch, but he got the job done more than he didn't. Especially when the season was essentially lost in 2006 and he still went out there everyday and competed, when someone at that point in his career probably wouldn't normally have had the motivation to do what Wells did. He had come off the DL after starting the year on it and had some sub-par performances but did complement those with some strong ones, IIRC. He really wasn't that bad here.
  8. Of course Ortiz gets blown away by this piece of s*** pitcher.
  9. It's just basically hurrah or hooray. CoDisc introduced it to the board, if I recall correctly. I had never heard it before.
  10. Oh s***. I didn't mean Drogba, I must have had his name pop into my head when I was thinking about Chelsea because who I meant was Joe Cole. He's fast. Don't get me wrong, I think Liverpool is great. But Chelsea just looked like they were in better shape later in the season. I never really saw any urgency out of Liverpool during the Champions League match-up until the start of the second leg of the quarterfinals, when they scored the 2 first half goals. They blew it really quickly though. They were tired when Chelsea struck back. I mean, I was trying to simply show that Liverpool's Champions League match-ups were more difficult than Arsenal's. I'm not here to debate whether or not the Real Madrid match-up was tough or not, I'm just saying that the only reason Arsenal went farther in the CL is because they had an easier schedule. If Arsenal played Liverpool, I honestly don't think it would have been as close as their EPL ties would consider.
  11. lol same. I don't think I've ever logged in other than the one time after I created my account.
  12. Papelbon is quite lucky that we're still winning. f***er.
  13. He's batting 6th, but yes, the shittiness of that lineup is disturbing. The bottom 4 is absolutely atrocious.
  14. Starting this tonight because I wanna get the sotk mojo going again and I won't have a chance tomorrow. Just win the game please. Beckett, pitch well like you're supposed to do, thanks. 15. That sucked. There were SO MANY METS FANS THERE. Wow.
  16. That s***** sport of cards and flopping requires much more endurance and conditioning than football. I played football; I'm not some soccer player trying to defend it. Football requires more strength and toughness, but soccer overall is much harder to prepare for.
  17. It's one thing to like them and know what you're talking about. Especially if you have a s*** ton of that team's memorabilia. Now, if you're just rooting for one of the lesser big four teams (Arsenal or Liverpool) as opposed to rooting for the top two (Chelsea or Man U), then you're a douche. I also like Manchester City and don't mind watching Fulham play, as it has had a few very good American players over recent years.
  18. Cool. I'll be there praying he figured it out.
