Ellsbury caught stealing? What the heck is that?
And I am now officially declaring this GT dead. Time of death: 12:07 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Beaneater Global Services, Inc.
Looks like we're gonna get our posteriors handed to us tonight. So let's break up the no-hitter and win the series. Oh, and win tonight if possible, of course, but them's pretty long odds right now.
EDIT: Pedroia HR while I typed so the ignominious threat of getting totally shut down is gone.
Ellsbury sez "I will now foul all your crap off and take the free pass."
Bannister now has the same pitch count problem as Dicey. Both bullpens are eating complex carbohydrates to prepare for the workload.
At least he has three Ks to go with the three BBs. But that equals a lot of pitches thrown: he's on track to give us 4 innings today. Huzzah!
Come on, Dicey, settle down and give us 6. Five, you say? That'd be OK too, I guess.
There are few things more frustrating than watching a pitcher issue fee passes. However, here is one one thing that is more frustrating: watching a pitcher issue free passes to the Kansas City Royals.
Judging from recent performance, it's hard to see why he ever goes with MDC. I think he and Timlin have crossed trajectories now: Timlin has been respectable in his last few outings (IIRC), and MDC has been pretty rough.
At least Masterson is still in line for the win. Score runs, please.
Didn't you guys say that Masterson got hammered his last couple of starts in the minors? I realize KC has no better than a AAAA offense, but it's still hard to see this guy getting owned by the Mechanicsburg Camshafts or whatever.
