    We should give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? Especially if we didn't have to give him a roster spot. We could argue that he's essentially a staff member like the batboy. That would rock.

    He should get ejected every game! Preferably as some sort of pregame ritual. You know, Tito hands the ump the lineup card, then Lugo walks up and insults the ump's mom/ethnic heritage/whatever. Lugo gets the ritual ejection, and the Sox cruise to karmically foreordained victory.

    Not that Cora had much to do with the comeback. Except for the whole Lugo's-negative-vibes thing.

    Odd things that inning: 1) Manny with the outfield assist. I know, I know, he gets a decent number of assists, but we're contractually obligated to be amazed every time he does something useful on defense. 2) Their catcher stole third... huh? 3) MDC did not allow a runner to score from third with 1 out. Time for Cora to go yard!

    Dice-K needs to walk more guys. He's off his rhythm from throwing too many pitches in the strike zone. Or maybe the problem is that our batters couldn't find second base (to say nothing of home plate) with a GPS unit today.

    I'm not watching the game, just GameCast. I'm noting (according to the pitch info there) that the strike zone is a little bigger than usual, but not absurdly so, and it seems like Beckett and Duchscherer are getting the same treatment. So... is Duchscherer really that good tonight, or what? Are we hitting balls hard (as when Wang shut us down) or are we looking like total dung at the plate?
