  1. I predict that if Ellsbury steals three bases a game for the rest of the year, he will end up with a lot of stolen bases.
  2. Why in heck do you walk Lugo on 4 pitches with Ellsbury on deck? Don't they know Lugo hasn't hit the ball out of the infield all year?
  3. Does Coco get RBIs for that? I would guess not, but I don't know.
  4. 6 stolen bases today... that's a season's worth for some of our previous teams.
  5. Surely the guy with the .358 batting-average-against is going to allow some runners. EDIT: Never mind, Gamecast is lagging.
  6. And we survive an inning of Timlin by the hair of our collective chinny chin chin.
  7. I can only think of one thing, really... it involves the guy on second running 180 feet with a 90 degree turn right in the middle.
  8. So... that would be a subset of bad baserunning, right?
  9. How did Ellsbury end up out at third on a non-force play? Bad baserunning?
  10. That's looking like the smart move after the Ellsbury single, eh?
  11. I assume you meant Papelbon. With the big boppers coming up next inning, Papelbon should be warming. What's that? You really did mean Timlin? So he can give up another walk-off win? Sigh...
  12. Stop swinging at the first pitch. That is all.
  13. Game would have been over when the guy on 2nd scored unless I'm missing something. The guy on 1st was totally irrelevant, other than the fact that he created a force situation at 2nd. And it was an IBB. In other words, intentional. In other words, Tito told him to. No need to get on Hansen for that.
  14. It was an IBB, and only the guy on 2nd matters, so he's "putting runners on the bases" only in the most technical and meaningless sense.
  15. And Ellsbury was the beneficiary of another, um, coincidental error. I can't think of anyone else that has been around so many errors. Maybe the statheads can find someone. All for naught, though. Yarg.
  16. Weird -- Beckett gets through 5.1 w/o a walk, and then he can't find the plate? At least he got the last guy...
  17. Are you saying that perhaps Lugo shouldn't have gotten ejected? Because that's really gonna make me confused.
  18. Meh. That was predictable.
  19. Why in the world did Timlin just enter a tie game in the bottom of the ninth?
  20. And Jeemer wins the epic Jeemer vs. Jeemer battle.
  21. Props to Morrow who just hosed us with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Dang we're good at squandering runners.
