  1. I'm confused. On GameCast, Felix's ball lands right in the middle of RF and it comes up "single to right". Coste's hit lands in some behind-1B no man's land and it comes up "flied out to right". Weird, man.
  2. And I think it's about time for the sweet and salty underside of the Phils' bullpen.
  3. For 7 full minutes?! That's his estimated 2nd to 3rd time, I think.
  4. Something's wrong with GameCast. It says "R Howard stole third", and since we all know that's physically impossible...
  5. Yanks may lead the majors in run differential by the end of the day.
  6. In other news, the Yanks crushed Santana and are now moving on the the Mets' pen. Hmmmph.
  7. That was a really short half inning. Not that I'm complaining.
  8. I was going to ask some of the long timers what happened to him. Did he just disappear from the board?
  9. 5 BB in 2.2 IP. That's Dice-K-esque.
  10. That's right, you better pitch around Kottaras... dude's a beast. I'd walk him every time, too.
  11. Anyone else seeing BACK-TO-BACK back-to-back jacks by Baldelli and Green? Anyone...? No... no, I guess not.
  12. Yeah, he'll be pushing 60 pitches through 2. Nice. Youk! Perhaps he is a better hitter than Beckett after all... EDIT: duh, that was Bay
  13. That'd have been good enough to get Ellsbury home from 3rd last inning. Beckett clearly > Youk as a hitter.
  14. Back to back by Baldelli and Green... a good sign that the pitcher needs to reflect upon his chosen vocation.
  15. Just what I was going to ask -- is this the return of crappy Beckett, or are the hits squib-and-dink trash?
  16. Rich Garces.
  17. No one's going to mistake that for something pretty, but it's a win.
  18. Why hit for Ramirez? It's not like we need more runs at this point. We need the guy who just pitched a 12-pitch inning back on the mound... EDIT: And I'm pretty sure he could have done as well as that, if not better...
  19. Phillies pitching: 9 BB Boston pitching: 1 BB And there's your difference, folks. Well, the 3 errors in one inning helped, too. EDIT: Make it 10 BB now.
  20. Heck, may as well rough up the Phillies' pen as much as possible.
  21. How about Beckett going about 8 innings tomorrow?
  22. Run differential is weird. I was checking to see what the standings were like on my birthday for the past few years, and in 2005 IIRC Washington was the only team in the NL East with a negative run differential... and they were in 1st place. Crazy stuff.
  23. It's nice that as MDC and Ramirez take steps back from their insane starts, we get Okajima becoming unhittable. It's nice to always have that one guy at any given time who's just got it all working. ...aaaaaand spoke too soon.
