  1. Alright updating the Lester thread. Jon Lester is in camp with the Red Sox right now. He's right now throwing in a group with Schilling, Beckett and Papelbon. He's ranked by soxprospects.com as the number 2 prospect in the Red Sox system going into 2006. He's supposed to start the season in Triple A Pawtucket and will probably be in Boston by the end of the season.
  2. Yep can do. I think I searched Pickney which is why I didn't see it. Alright it's deleted feel free to make your own.
  3. Well YS made a thread long long long ago but I'm not sure if it was in the purpose of claiming him but it was way before you did. If he doesn't want him then you can certainly have him.
  4. OK so what I did is I looked through the minor league forum and looked to see which prospects on your list had been claimed. If your name is next to a prospect that means that either you have once claimed him in the official claim a prospect thread or you have started a thread titled by the prospect's name. I then edited Crespo's list so it's consistent with the one at the top of the page. If you feel you don't want that prospect anymore or want to switch to an open prospect just post here and we will change it. Please do not create new threads about players which have already have threads on them. Just search the minor league forum for the player and you should be able to find it. I put down whether that prospect had a thread on him already or not. Thanks.
  5. Yeah you didn't technically "claim" him but there's a thread titled Clay Buchholz in the Minor Leagues forum started by you so I kind of assigned him to you. If you want to leave him open that is fine.
  6. You had someone else as well, but as I was compiling my list I accidentally deleted it but I'll tell you who that was when I find it. If you want to switch to Pinckney that should be fine as well. EDIT: It was Clay Buchholz.
  7. I just merged this with one you had created before but hadn't been updated since July.
  8. Well as I said I know I have Lester and you have Ellsbury. I'll go do some searches see if there are any active members who have claims on guys you mentioned. Otherwise I would say they're up for grabs.
  9. Well technically I think you have Ellsbury since you claimed him first. I know I have Lester but I haven't updated that in ages. I have a lot of time since I'm on school break right now and I'll be getting oral surgery done on Tuesday so I'll be laying around at home pretty much all this week so I will try to get around to it. I'll start now, I was considering locking threads for prospects who are no longer in the organization but then I realized people might want them left open if people want to update how they are doing in their respective organizations. People can let me know what they think.
  10. As it stands now the US has done everything but guaranteed them a spot in the quarters. They are in 4th place in Pool B with a record of 1-2-1. Latvia is in 5th place with a record of 0-3-1. The best Latvia can do is tie with the US as if Latvia beats Kazakhstan and US loses to Russia on Tuesday they will both have a record of 1-3-1. If both teams tie in the standings then the tiebreaker is goal differential. Currently the US is +1 while Latvia is -15. So the US is basically assured of winning the tiebreaker If the US beats/ties Russia or Latvia loses/ties to Kazakhstan then the US will have automatically clinched a berth in the quarters and the tiebreakers will not go in effect.
  11. What difference is post count anyway. No one really judges anyone by the number of posts they have anyway (at least I don't) so I don't see why post count is such a big deal.
  12. I disagree. Canada was much better in all facets of the game in my opinion. They pretty much did everything but put the puck in the net. 2 goals were disallowed, and they had a couple pucks which were on the edge of the goal line only to have defensemen sweep them out of harm's way. Canada just took way too many penalties in the first 2 periods and the Swiss converted on their PP opportunities while Gerber saved the Swiss from the Canadians converting on their chances.
  13. I disagree. Usually people just post play by play and reactions which is very useful to members on the board who cannot watch the game. There is also many debate over managerial decisions among other things. I don't think any of it is spam so I don't know what you're going at there.
  14. Good hard fought game by the USA. I didn't really expect them to win this game as Slovakia is a dangerous team but I thought both teams played well and were relatively even. Even if the US doesn't win for the rest of the prelims (against Sweden and Russia) I still think they can make the next round. Their competition for the last spot would be Kazakhstan and Latvia and if it goes down to goal differential I think US has them beat especially with Latvia getting killed their last 2 games. A win against either Sweden or Russia will definitely get them into the next round though.
  15. Yeah but when he caught it with his glove, his glove was clearly inside the net and I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to save the puck with any body part or piece of equipment over the goal line.
  16. I just don't see how that couldn't have been a goal. That one angle they showed the glove was clearly behind the net, and the other ones they showed it wasn't clear whether it was over the line or not, so I would think you would of had to go with the one clear shot that they had. Regardless of that Canada should have won this game in the 3rd Period when you outshoot a team by that margin and dominate play like they did there is no excuse for not scoring. I think they could have had a few more quality scoring chances as a lot of the saves by Gerber were just shots from the blue line which he could save easily. But I give Gerber a lot of credit because even when the Canadians tried to put a lot of guys in front of him to stop him from seeing the puck he still wouldn't budge and made some great saves.
  17. Canada goes down 2-0 to Switzerland. Amazing performance by Swiss goalie Martin Gerber. The Canadians outshot the Swiss 26-1 in the 3rd period alone but got nothing past Gerber. They also had 2 goals disallowed. The 2nd of which I thought should have counted.
  18. Canada's losing to Switzerland right now 2-0 in the 2nd period. Canada just had 3 men in the box at once.
  19. I heard about it this afternoon haven't seen clips of it but it really sounds boneheaded. Just another bad day for the Americans.
  20. And he looks like 12 too which makes the fact that he's saying that hilarious.
  21. What are you thinking seriously? Telling someone to kill themselves? You don't think that's a bit over the line. The guy's a baseball player plain and simple. That says nothing about them as a person. No one should ever wish death upon someone whom has done no harm whatsoever especially a baseball player.
  22. Rolen has said that he will be at full strength for the 2006 season. I expect them to easily win the Central again but to fall in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs.
  23. Rumor has it that the Darko experiment is over in Detroit. Proposed trade is Darko and Carlos Arroyo to Orlando for Kelvin Cato and a 1st rounder. Only thing holding it up is the lottery protection of the 1st rounder. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2331049
  24. They're all gone in case anyone hasn't noticed. Migrated to another forum.
