  1. Hail A-Sun basketball.
  2. Point taken, but do you think the media in Philly will be any less relentless?
  3. How does looking at someone's physical problems, make them a stat junkie? Isn't that 100% the opposite? Something a scout would say? Oh, remind us how Mike Gallego did in postseason? How about BC Youkilis for the other-worldly Helton? Let's trade Lester, Delcarmen, Coco, and Hansen for Andruw Jones!
  4. Would you do Crisp and Masterson for Salty?
  5. I read the article. I understood how they came up with it.
  6. I think he's trying to say that Ellsbury is not as good as his 180 AB sample that we saw in September and in October. I'd put him at a .300/.370/.400/.770 batter, while playing HOF worthy defense. I wouldn't trade him for a lot of players, but Cabrera isn't one of them.
  7. Probably, yesterday. Oh, and what the .......?
  8. It depends. If the D-Rays were to sign Johan Santana, and Curt Schilling, the Twins would get the higher pick from the D-Rays.
  9. BRADYY! BRADY!
  10. Seriously, stop it. Coco, Masterson, and Moss won't get you Miguel Cabrera.
  11. This made absolutely zero sense. You want to win, but you want the team purged of all "jerks?" You must have been writhing in pain, when Schilling won Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS.
  12. Give Mike Lowell a new contract. We could go the Bonds-Ortiz route, and slide Youkilis to 3B.
  13. Great. He's still not an upgrade over David Ortiz. Who was outhit by Barry Bonds in 2006. .500 OBP in front of Rodriguez, Ortiz, and Ramirez. Dude, the guy had a 1.045 OPS last year. Why is everyone so against this move? The risk is minimal, because he's only here for one year. If he starts getting old, very fast, he's not going to be an albatross. Mark Teixeira would look awfully good in a Red Sox uniform. How does adding two of the greatest hitters in MLB history, cause a backward step? This is absolutely ridiculous. You mean like signing Drew, Lugo, and Matsuzaka?
  14. Again, Beckett wasn't pitching very smart his first year. He didn't have a lot of control on his pitches, which resulted in the crappy year. How did Beckett do this year? He's adjusted fine to the AL. So can Sheets. I don't understand how a guy, who you claim that only has two pitches, can be flat-out dominant when he's healthy. I mean, the NL switch will cause his ERA to rise a little bit, but as much as you think? I doubt it.
  15. Be serious for a moment. Barry Bonds. Kevin Youkilis. Can you honestly say with a straight face that Youkilis has more value than Bonds? Plus, because of Youkilis' hot October, like you mentioned, he's going to have a lot of value to other teams. He's still fairly young, and cheap. We can move him and other parts to acquire a young starter. (Like Beckett)
  16. If Ryan Howard can play 1B, David Ortiz can too. Whatever the Red Sox lose on defense, is obliterated by the gain the Red Sox get on offense.
  17. Probably not, but this thread is mostly hypothetical, anyway.
  18. Any guy who fans nearly a batter per inning, isn't going to have a major problem making the switch. I think it's worth the gamble to see if Sheets can return to full strength. The guy is way too talented, to simply discredit him based on the league he pitches in.
  19. No, OBP. (Exaggeration, but probably not that far from reality)
  20. See how winning impacts team chemistry? Apply this lesson, and the lesson of Corey Dillon to Barry Bonds and A-Rod.
