I think Boone tearing his ACL was the what put Rodriguez in pinstripes. Any GM, especially one of the Yankees, would be swap Soriano for Rodrrguez 10/10. The ones that couldn't would be the ones that couldn't afford it. Cashman can't use that excuse. -
Oh, I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about that overblown tribute to Heath Evans in that article. The man deserves a sentence. Heath Evans filled in a few times at RB, blocked a little bit, and caught passes. In other words, 10,000 other RB's like him can be found on the scrap heap. That was two, but point stands.

Heath Evans is f***ing mediocre. At best. Why do Patriots fans lament every single player they lose? "heth evns is gon feva :(" It's borderline psychopath.

What a douche. You do this without shame. You try to qualify your statement after the fact, and don't even seem embarrassed doing it. One of your points on taking "Anderson over Teixeira" was that Anderson was big league ready. A 1B who musters a .750 OPS blows. That's backup production. I like how you use "probably" so you can weasel out of another prediction.

I don't think people have much issue with their scouting reports, except when they touted Abe Alvarez as the next Tom Glavine, but the way they run their message board is f***ing horrible. If you don't like a prospect, they will erase your post, ban you, and then claim that they don't want to hurt the player's feelings. That's about as biased as it gets.

Even a four year old will respond when his/hers classmates, or friends don't find the joke humorous. Most will simply shut up. (Or cry) Gom has failed this test. The only conclusion is that Gom has Tourette's syndrome, which protected by all laws of political correctness. Sorry, but we can't do anything about it.

I like McCown. He's got a pretty good arm, and I like what I've seen in spot times. I don't expect him to be an All-Pro, but he'll definitely be an upgrade over Jeff Garcia. No Grossman. Just no. Sign Byron Leftwich if you want to go that route.

Lugo's career numbers were almost equal to Cabrera's when he got signed. Cabrera got $8 million in 2005, Lugo got $9 million in 2007, in a bull market. Cabrera had a below average offensive year, and played OK defense. In this market, he's worth this much.

Smoltz hasn't suffered a drop in performance. At all. He has been one of the better control pitchers for the last four years. He hasn't walked over 55 batters in four years. He can hit his spots. If his velocity is near 90 mph, he should be fine. I want to see how he does in late March, when he starts throwing.

He seems to be in good shape, and all reports have him coming back in June. If he comes up short in throwing sessions, I'll change my tune, but he's not a corpse.

Depends on what John Smoltz we get back. The guy's last two healthy seasons were fantastic, he showed that he could still pitch, however limited, in 2008, and he's still missing bats at good rates. He might have some rust when he gets back, but he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down statistically. He's still a good pitcher, until he shows otherwise. Why the petty scoff at the prediction? The only two on that list that are clearly better than Smoltz are Halladay and Sabathia. You seem to do this often. In your futile attempt to win an argument, you allow all rational forms of thought to completely escape you. Do you really think you fool people when you come out with your arbitrary list of fail?
