  1. Who the f*** is Kevin Thompson?
  2. He isn't a great option to have, I don't even think as a middle reliever. Lefites destroy him, and seeing that only Myers is the lone lefty reliever, I think we should add another southpaw. Ron Villone would be a great addition. If our bullpen looked like it did back in early July, then Bottalico would get a shot, but our bullpen looks okay right now. Schilling can remain the closer, with Timlin, Myers, Delcarmen, Bradford in front of him. Foulke will be back, and adding him will be like adding a very effective setup man. Papelbon isn't too far away either. I don't think the bullpen is the weak link of this team, the starting rotation is below average for a championship club. I'd certianly match Wells against any other ace, but after him it gets weak. Clement, and Wakefield would keep us in the game, but they aren't dominant.
  3. MLB does have the say on what cap the player wears. About Schilling though, I love Curt, I think he's one of the greatest big game pitchers, but he isn't a Hall of Famer. He hasn't won 200 games yet, and has an ERA of 3.36.
  4. They aren't done, because the Red Sox aren't that much better then the Yankees are. You are correct though, they need to get 2 SP's at least, with Kevin Brown being done, and Jaret Wright likely not contributing. They also need to adress the bullpen, and get a CF. The Yankees have exactly two prospects worth mentioning, and those two prospects won't even get you a number 3 starter. Too many holes to fill, not enough to do it with.
  5. Graffiano has been pretty good for the Red Sox so far, he's hitting .318 in 22 AB's, and has struck out 3 times. Bellhorn has struck out 3 times in several games. I hope Bellhorn finds his stroke, and has a good 2nd half, but all signs point against it.
  6. Yanks don't have any interest in him, mainly because he's worse at defense then Bernie Williams is. He used to be a gold glover, but it seemed to desert him last year in Tampa. He walks a lot, but also he strikes out his fair share too. He isn't a good runner as he was in Toronto, and probably would be a below average 4th outfielder. He hits right handers much better than he hits lefties, (12 HR's in 158 AB's.) He might be a option for the Red Sox for about 4 days, Gabe Kapler has gotten 6 hits, in his last 8 AB's in Pawtucket. He went 2-4, and his average actually fell. (He's hitting .600)
  7. I'm assuming 8-10 days, and then he'll probably go to Portland to take Mark Deschens place (he was promoted, when Delcramen was promoted)
  8. Wasn't he clamied off waivers by the Padres earlier?
  9. I ALreadt hav 1 so eye wont enter hehe git ready to read more of these, from the newbies lol
  10. Jon Papelbon will probably be called up, but let's talk about that later.
  11. Why does the game mean anything right now?
  12. Hit him behind the ear, he'll go on the DL. Don't rush him back.
  13. And you do?
  14. If we don't trade him in the 10 day period, he becomes a free agent. What I was saying, is that if the Red Sox trade him within that time period, they owe him an ADDITIONAL 1 million dollars, on top of his contract. If they don't, they don't owe him the money.
  15. The Red Sox will not trade Alan Embree, he has a clause in his contract which call for a 1 million dollar bonus, if he is traded. Now, what team would take that on that kind of money for someone who has a 7.5 era?
  16. I live here in Florida, so I get the chance to go to a lot of games. Let me tell you he's kind of like Jar-Jar Binks, some people think he's funny, a lot of people think he's annoying.
  17. M-o-o-d S-w-i-n-g
  18. Yes, Meredith has been ruined, and so has Miguel Caberra. Oh my god, they did rush him from double A right? No, you can't do that, their too fragile to handle the promotions. After all it's every minor leaguers dream to get up to AAA and wait there. It's too much pressure to handle to jump, let's just baby them until their 27, then we can call him up. That makes sense doesn't it.
  19. Why would you do this? The players would be so pissed, they'd beg to leave Boston. They'd purposely stop at a base and stare down Tito. It might work for the Yankees, but these are the Red Sox, were just a different team, with a different mentiallty. In a perfect world this would be a great idea. It could work, if you cut the fines down to about 100 dollars, but 10,000 dollars? That's a lot of money.
  20. The only pieces of s*** here, are your brains. It was a great story, this kid came from nowhere to be a legitmate prospect. That's what I thought was interesting. No one said that they felt sorry for him.
  21. I wouldn't call you gay, but I doubt you'd object to someone resting their dick in your mouth.
  22. I agree, he's not ready. He needs to hit higher then .275 to merit a promotion to the bigs. s***, you could be Prince Charles in terms of maturity, but if you aren't ready to play in the bigs, you aren't ready.
  23. You think Duquette was a good GM? He had one of the highest payrolls to work with, and he did nothing with it. He never added a number 2 starter to Pedro. He had no social skills which killed MANY deals. He was arrogant, he lead to the demise of the Red Sox clubhouse. In fact Johnny Damon was told when he walked into the Red Sox clubhouse for the first time, "Why did you sign here?" He ran Roger Clemens out of town, he was PATHETIC. The only people he added, he OVERPAID for. Manny 20 million, Pedro 17 million. It's not hard to miss when you're adding stars. Look what Theo has done, he added Bill Mueller, Orlando Caberera (no GM had the guts to do that), Mark Bellhorn, Kevin Millar, David Ortiz, Curt Schilling, Keith Foulke, the list goes on. Also remember the sorry ass state of the farm system. It was so bad back in '02, we protected a 28 players on the 40 man roster. Now this system probably is in the top 10 in terms of talent, we got a ton of trading ships, and future regulars. Duquette did sign players to massive salaries, which is stuff you'd recoginze.
  24. Probably adding to his versatilty. I wouldn't read to much into it.
  25. We'd probably see Stick, and Cashman's head on pikes that they could put in monument park as a warning. Your right though, Cash and Stick should run the team.
