  1. The knuckleball is the least consistant pitch. Wakefield throws 80, because that's as hard as he can throw. He's in the Sox pitching staff, because he's the ultimate competitor, and the ultimate teammate.
  2. What a pickup Jay Witasik was! He fanned app. 1/3 of the 160+ batters he's faced.
  3. For those of you who are unfamilar with Anibal Sanchez, he's a flamethrowing righthander, who has been clocked at 98 mph, but he sits at 92-95 mph. His changeup is fantastic, he throws that around 81-84 mph. He has an improving curveball, which he needs to develop in order to be sucessful, if he doesn't develop it, his future is in the bullpen, if he can, he can be a fanstastic starter. EDIT* Forgot to add that he has outstanding control. Sanchez's ETA is most likely 2007, he'll probably pitch the rest of the year in Portland, and then probably start there in 06.
  4. I forgive Embree, according to the yesnetwork fans, he's a double agent. He's still rooting for the Sox
  5. I meant next year's FA crop.
  6. Any starter we sign will only get a year, Sanchez and Lester are close too.
  7. What about Womack, Quantrill, Groom, Stanton, the list just grows longer
  8. The Red Sox probably won't sign a starter next year, the Yankees will have a pretty good chance to land Burnett. Burnett misses bats, which helps, Pavano was a bust ready to happen.
  9. BronxBomber61 = Owned X 2
  10. Pavano isn't Manny, that's a very bad comparsion.
  11. I wouldn't call him a pimp, I'd call him a s***** MLB pitcher, and those two girls are probably groupies. f*** D-Lowe, he shouldn't be called a human.
  12. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats/individual_player_splits.jsp?c_id=mlb&playerID=114739&statType=1 Giambi isn't a HR machine, he's the product of Yankee Stadium. He's hit 6 HR's away from Yankee stadium, and 2 of them at Fenway just barely cleared Pesky's pole. I guess he's hitting smart.
  13. Giambi may now talk, because the BALCO case has been resolved.
  14. I read about it more, D-Lowe is f***ing pathetic. I mean, I know he wants some tail. but it's pathetic to walk out on your wife and kids. I hope his ERA gets up to 7
  15. I'd give him two days, against bad pitching. If he fails, then he's gone.
  16. I think 3 months, but it's a good change from Neumy always predicting doom, which always pisses me off.
  17. Michael Holley is Dale Arnold's co-host. He's much better then Neumie, who whines all the time on sports reporters.
  18. I guarnatee you Giambi won't hit 14 HR's this month, that was Giambi at his best. I gave you someone who plays in a deeper ballpark, who had hit nothing in the first half, turn into a potent cleanup hitter, what more proof do you want? Giambi is probably one of the most patient hitters in the game, you think Ichiro's waiting for his pitch? Nope, he's hacking away. Pudge? Same logic. As for the "only" logical answer. Maybe he's working out more, maybe he's starting his swing earlier, maybe he's waiting for his pitch. Steriods isn't the only logical answer, but you do make a very good point that it might be.
  19. I agree, Bellhorn plays in the field just as well as Tony G., he can hit more HR's, and he can get on base more. Key word is could though.
  20. LOOK AT THE PITCHES HE HITS OUT! He works the count in his favor, gets his pitch, and drives it to right field, and if he doesn't get it he's happy with the walk. You're arguement is "yeah he had a good month, and he must be on steriods" What about David Ortiz? In 2003 he had 5 HR's on July 3rd, then finshied with 31. That's a serious power spike, but I don't look at the fact that he might have taken steriods, he's fixed the holes in his swing, like Giambi has.
  21. He's hitting .240 with RISP.
  22. He sucks, that's why.
  23. Are you the piss man? You have no prove, and I'll bet that he's been tested at least twice. But you guys have to take into the fact that Giambi has a great hitters eye, and he's not a skinny guy. He's going to hit his share of HR's out. Just look at all his HR's this month, all of them have probably been middle in, or right down the midde. If you're a lefty in Yankee Stadium you should be able to hit those balls out.
  24. No, you miss the point entirely. People can get hot, whether it's someone who's hot for 3 days, or 3 months, hot streaks happen. But you guys are thinking Giambi's hitting soaring magestic HR's, watch his HR's they aren't traveling that far. He's hitting pitches that are down the middle, to the short RF porch.
