  1. Manny always watches his HR's. Especially if they are as long as that one was. What does the point with the Red Sox losing have anything to do with Manny's HR? He hit a homerun, and he watched it, so ???? Where does losing fit in? What the hell does the next sentence even mean? Get the dick that's currently in your mouth. Take it out. Then resume typing. You might actually type something relevant in. But we all know that's as likely as you not being seen with a dick in your ass.
  2. You probably meant that because of Wakefield's age he is near the end of his career. But, I hope you didn't mean that because of his bad outing he is near the end of his career. Then again, you probably did mean the latter, because you are, without question, the dumbest person on the board. Hemroids could probably tell me more about baseball then you could.
  3. We can conclude two things about you. 1. You are a homer. 2. You have no idea to who Justin Verlander is.
  4. Yeah, I hate to gloat especially after the Sox lost, but I think you need to ask yourself the same question.
  5. You're banking on a guy who strikes out 35% of the time to be the savior of this lineup? Dustin Mohr CANNOT HIT RH pitchers, he should only be used against LH pitchers, and that is it. Currently, Mohr is hitting .194 on the season. Against right handers, he is 0-10 with 5 K's. That clearly indicates that he is overmatched. Now if Myers comes in, and Harris is up, I'd be all for Mohr coming in, but against a right hander, no thanks.
  6. Mohr's a fine option against LH hitters, but he's absolutely putrid against RH hitters. These guys both suck. They shouldn't even be exiled from Boston as soon as Crisp and Kapler are healthy.
  7. Mohr? I could hit RH better than he could. Plus, his iron glove out there doesn't help. Pena is hurt, Crisp is hurt, therefore some s***** player is going to be in CF. I still don't understand your rant. It's just moronic. The Red Sox HAVE NO ONE ELSE TO STICK OUT THERE. The only two alternatives are Varitek, who doesn't catch knuckleballs, and Gonzalez, who doesn't hit at all.
  8. That's a pathetic rant. Pena is hurt. Mirabelli catches Wakefield Cora is a better hitter than Gonzalez. Not hard to comprehend.
  9. What the hell is that supposed to mean? The Red Sox are bagging Tim Wakefield? You're not that stupid are you?
  10. Yeah, you can say then when you figure out how to control a knuckleball.
  11. Unless Barbaro is gay, he probably has no problem with breeding.
  12. What's a horse going to do with money? This isn't like slavery. A horse lacks sentience in order to feel repressed. Besides, horses in the wild usually are perfect targets for Puma's, and Lions. I'm sure having your body ripped into pieces is probably a better way to die. Besides, getting fresh exercise, being fed probably the best food in order to make the horse stronger, and getting heaps of attention on you would probably make the horse feel pretty good (if it feels anything at all) Oh, and being a stallion wouldn't be a bad problem.
  13. I don't understand how you can say that. The dead ball era placed a greater emphasis on contact. Players didn't strikeout nearly as much as they do nowadays. Even if Pedro didn't need to throw 110 pitches, he still has the daunting task of firing 350 innings in a season. Then again, it's impossible to compare the two eras.
  14. Probably. That's why I used the League ERA stat to assert Pedro's domiance. I still think that Pedro is the greatest pitcher of all time, but Johnson is not too far behind. Hypothetical question. What if Pedro Martinez threw in the dead ball era? Would he be more dominant, or would he succumb to an injury as a result of throwing 150 pitches per start?
  15. Exaggeration Johnson threw 5,914.3 IP in his career. Pedro won't even come remotely close to touching that. One can only assume that Walter Johnson threw more often than Pedro Martinez, no? And, you do agree that a pitcher's pitches are better when they have more time to recoup from their previous start. That's the stat that makes me think Pedro Martinez is the best pitcher of all time. Martinez has a difference of 1.79 when it comes to his ERA and the league ERA. Johnson's is only 1. The point I'm trying to make is that Walter Johnson's ERA+ may have risen had he pitched every 5th day, as opposed to every 4th or 3rd day.
  16. Does ERA+ factor in what their numbers would be like if they threw every 5th day? Granted, Pedro is one of the greatest pitchers of all time, but you have to think how much signifigantly lower Bob Gibson's, or Walter Johnson's ERA's would have been had they thrown every fifth day as opposed to throwing every other day.
  17. Someone has to add a God smiley.
  18. Foulke can get Long, or Caberra, or Reese.
  19. What would the Dolphins care? If he has any more troubles, they'll show him the door.`
  20. If you take away A-Rod's late inning AB's, he's actually hitting .295, up from .276.
  21. When A-Rod does get a hit to break a tie, or gets an early inning RBI, your quick to say, "he's still not clutch, it's only the third inning." You should probably wait until the 7th inning to get on A-Rod for being clutch.
  22. Wait, I thought the third inning wasn't a clutch hit?
  23. Both teams have played well? I'm not saying the Yankees are a joke, I'm just trying to clairfy what DK is saying.
  24. He still isn't worth 13 million dollars. His days of hitting 20 HR's are gone, his elite fielding status is gone, and his .350 OBP is good, but not superstar money. But you are right, it is hard to say if the contract will be a bad one. I'm just taking an educated guess, that players get worse with age, and that Damon's nagging injuries will eventually overrun him. (ala Steve McNair)
