  1. Joe Nelson? What the hell?
  2. So, about that baseball game?
  3. Baseball rules Article 4, section 12. In this case, the Royals had already had the lead in the eighth inning. The eight inning was the last completed inning, and if a case of the game being called the umpires would revert to the last completed inning. So, the Royals would win 7-5, ending their losing streak.
  4. Possible candiates to take Wells' spot. Matt Ginter Abe Alvarez David Pauley (unlikely) Jon Lester (unlikely)
  5. He's more of a gap hitter. He had 17 doubles in AA.
  6. I'd rather Papelbon have the night off after three straight outings. We need him later in the year.
  7. In fairness to the people who voted under, which I did at first, he isn't out of the woods yet, but it would be nice to have an extra option out of the pen.
  8. I demand massive props for this post on May 4th.
  9. Weapon of Mass Pena! :D :D :D :wtf: he struck out  i guess there is none just like iraq
  10. Weapon of Mass Pena! :D :D :D :wtf: he struck out
  11. He's been here for two years.
  12. OK, Clemens will sign with the Yankees. You're the anti-mojo. Everything you say, the opposite happens. Yankee fans everywhere, you know who to thank when Clemens signs that dotted line.
  13. No movement. The ball just smashed into his knee at 115 mph.
  14. David Wells doesn't deserve to go out like that.
  15. Bad info on my part. The Tampa Bay guys said he's going to try to stay in.
  16. He's up. He may try to pitch.
  17. The Sox FO should be shot if they put him in the bullpen.
  18. Perfect example of why you don't panic and trade young left-handed starters.
  19. You're completely missing the point. I'm talking about the San Francisco Giants. Not the New York Yankees.
  20. Three. You keep changing the figures to help your argument. At least use factual information when you try to make a point. Once Bonds leaves they'll need major league talent to help rebuild the team. Clippard, Melky, and Phillips won't cut it.
  21. It makes sense. Youkilis gets on for Crisp, instead of Gonzalez.
  22. What? No, they won't. When Bonds leaves their payroll will shrink down to $72 million dollars. I don't understand how you got your numbers there. You keep bringing up bad contracts, but why? The Giants are fine. They make plently of money. They don't need the Yankees to eat their contracts. The small market crippling contract issue doesn't make much sense. The Giants aren't one of those teams. But, just for the sake of argument, I'm going to disect each of the players you brought up. Finley makes 7 million, Alou's contract expires after the year, and Durham's expires after the year. They are only on the hook in '07 for Matheny and Morris' contracts.
  23. Finley doesn't have a contract that would bog teams down. His contract expires at the conclusion of the season. The Giants won't take crap for the sole purpose of shedding salaries. Peter McGowan is an extremely wealthy individual, who has shown no qualms of spending money. The Giants payroll is at $90 million dollars, and they have a strong fan base. You think they would risk alienating that by trading Schmidt for those three pieces of s***? Keep deluding yourself. McGowan fianaced AT&T Park, he needs to keep attendence high. You'd think if he traded Schmidt, it would be for a pitcher like a Jon Lester, or a Phillip Hughes, one who would not only pay short-term dividens, but would be a franchise centerpiece. Clippard, Melky, and Phillips are nice players, but the Giants would destroy their fan base if they pulled off a trade like that. Remember last year, when they wanted three top prospects for Schmidt? It's going to be like that again this year.
