Give it a rest.
Why is everyone so worried about the Red Sox? Did you see Monday's lineup? That's probably the best lineup in the American League, save for the healthy Yankee lineup. Look at these numbers:
.371, .369, .361, .431, .414, .372, .335, .429.
Those are the OBP numbers for our first eight hitters. Granted, Gonzalez sucks, but he has a great glove. Which, by the way, the Red Sox have the best defense in baseball.
Throw in the fact, that the Red Sox rotation will be better than it was shown these last few days. Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield, and Wells. That's a pretty good front four to run out their every week. Wells is still hurt, but you know he's going to give you league average innings out of the fourth spot, which is pretty valuable. Lester, and Hansen should be ready by August, which will give the Red Sox two more quality arms to add to the pitching staff.
Basically, what I'm saying, we'll go through a rough stretch, all teams do. The difference is, that the Red Sox have the talent to stop long rough stretches. Come the trade deadline, the Red Sox will be up there. So will the Yankees and Blue Jays, but it should make for pretty damn interesting race, though.
