  1. He f***ing sucks. He's OPS'ing .686 with 3 HR's.
  2. No, that ball is caught in the corner. Doesn't really matter. It's in Yankee Stadium.
  3. Thumper will.
  4. Why would he opt out?
  5. What classification was your team?
  6. Probably wouldn't have mattered. Ortiz was out at second.
  7. I guess Buchholz could be a nice fit.
  8. He's probably thinking that Masterson will take a little longer to adjust. I personally do not view him as a starter, but more of an elite setup pitcher.
  9. No way. You are not 35 years old. That is a flat out lie. I would have guessed low 20's/high 18's.
  10. Gom, I'd consult Megan's Law before you proceed.
  11. What does the gambling involved in the Vick case, have anything to do with the gambling involved with the NFL?
  12. Dye would have been playing a lot more often than the average bench player. Ortiz is really scuffling in August, getting him some time off would have been very valuable for the team in October. Besides, how badly do we need Masterson? I know there's no such thing as too much pitching, but Buchholz, Lester, Papelbon, Matsuzaka, Beckett, and Bowden are all under 27 years old. This team is probably one or two in terms of the best team of baseball. Having Dye's bat in the lineup would have made them the unquestioned favorite for the World Series. I'd take that in exchange for our future 7th inning relief pitcher.
  13. No. I have heard the argument that Cortisone is a PED, and I think it is valid, but MLB doesn't have a rule against it. Cortisone doesn't make you play better, it just allows you to play through the pain.
  14. 6-3, HR by Huff.
  15. That ball would have been gone, a year ago.
  16. Have you been watching highlights of the 2001 Oakland A's? Damon's obviously lost some ground in the outfield. He was a barely average fielder in 2005, and many people predicted he was going to continue to decline. His FRAA was a - in 2006. This guy is a liability. He doesn't deserve to start over Cabrera, and the Yankee offense is much better with Giambi as the DH. The bench is the best place for Damon.
  17. Schilling's playoff performances all occurred when he was a dominating pitcher. He isn't even close to what he once was, so his next performance in October can be accompanied with a large question mark. I really don't know who I'd take. I'd don't see any fastball from Schilling, right now. His strikeout levels are down. Big time. The two pitchers are probably pretty similar. A 4.50 ERA pitcher, who can still pitch a great game every so often. If they were both free agents, I'd take a pass on both of them.
  18. 22 year old players who can OPS .800, and play good defense don't grow on trees. A healthy Johnny Damon is still a major liability in the field.
