  1. Ledezma in for Bonderman. Now would be a good time for Papi to break out of his mini slump.
  2. Ouch. Polanco injured on the play.
  3. Time for Mirabelli to jack one out of the park.
  4. Curt steps it up and gets out of the jam. Nice job.
  5. Big play Lowell with the out at home.
  6. I used to like Lenny Clarke years ago, but I think his career jumped the shark about 10 years ago. But the Mel Gibson stuff is making me chuckle. I like the Braveheart references too.
  7. Game ovah...Thanks to Beckett, Seanez, and Demarlo Hale for this loss.
  8. Why send Manny? What a freakin waste.
  9. Excellent job by Rudy. I don’t get to say that very often.
  10. Youk makes it a game. Nice hit.
  11. Inge gives the Sox a break.
  12. Javy puts the Sox on the board.
  13. Red Sox offense: [/crickets]
  14. I’m positive the bullpen will get worked again tonight. Oh wait, that wasn’t being positive.
  15. I continue to be under-whelmed by Beckett. Ace…haha.
  16. Thanks for putting up those numbers. It really puts the payroll budget into perspective. But isn't the current payroll over the luxury tax limit? And if so, what is the difference between the $32M of freed up money and the amount that the current payroll is over by?
  17. I’ve had about enough of Johnson and his great groundball or sinker or whatever pitch that has Theo convinced he’s a keeper. The moment Wakefield is activated I hope Johnson is DFA’d and Theo can write this off as another experiment that failed.
  18. He’s been barely used since the ASB, and all but one of his appearances have been in low leverage situations. The one and only occasion he was used in a close game, at KC, is when he gave up the one run. He still ranks high on the list of veteran players who have been big disappointments this year.
  19. That’s basically my point. I don’t see him as quite the liability that some do, but if he comes back and still continues to under-perform, then by all means, bench him.
  20. It’s really not fair for a player to lose their starting job because they spent time on the DL. With that said, Trot has to prove that he’s worthy of being used regularly. If it means he steps it up and performs better than what we saw in June and July, then it’s a win-win for him and the team. He’s at the end of his contract so maybe that extra incentive might come into play, to make himself more marketable. But I agree WMP needs to play every day. And if it’s some kind of 3-way platoon involving him and Trot and Coco, then that works for me.
