Kapler was left off the 40 man roster today. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/40man.GIF Two questions about the list. First, if you're left off the 40 man roster, doesn't that mean another team can come in and grab a guy as a "Rule 5" guy? And if so, the second question. Where is Dustin Pedroia? I don't know if I'm psyched or scared of this roster for next year....

I don't think they should test for amphetamines. It's been a part of the game since before I was born. I think it's great that steroids are being (hopefully) removed from the game, but I also find it a bit hypocritical that MLB, after years of turning a blind eye, has decided to drop the hammer on the players like this. Bud would not feel compelled to "save the game" today if he was doing his job 12 years ago.

Ehhh. Theo could still be back, but even if he's not, the Sox have almost 2 weeks to find somebody. Hell, Lucchino can still do the job or even one of the young guys. I don't expect anything out of the Red Sox next year anyway (even if we keep Manny), so I don't think it's as big a deal as some of you. I hope Damon comes back and I hope we get somebody for Wells. I don't want to see Manny go at all, but they will do what they want/can. I hope they give the kids a shot. -
