I used to be good friends with Tony Graffanino's sister. She was my manager at a restaurant in Athens GA when Tony was a rookie with the Braves. Never met him though. She was really cool (and hot). She moved to Atlanta when I started school here but we didn't keep in touch.

If the deal does come down to Helton for Lowell, Tavares and either Hansen or MDC I think it's a no brainer. But I'm torn on the Hansen/MDC part. I'm still high on both of them. Neither was supposed to be in the majors this soon and both have pretty bright future if they pan out. I can't decide which one to part with. If we need a closer then we should obviously try and keep Hansen. But Manny's a good little pitcher too. I just like the guy. I know Hansen gets knocked around by some of you here, but he seriously could be lights out. And Manny could be a terrific setup guy. I'd like it if we kept them both and offered all the other junk. Gabbard, Snyder, Pauley, Hansak and asked for only 30 million. But that's unrealistic and probably stupid. So I guess I'd give up Delcarmen over Hansen in the deal. Reluctantly.

I think so. If he's good for 15 wins (and I think he is) then he's a steal for the money in the current age of baseball.

Am I the only one worried that this deal could suck? Helton's power numbers have dropped ridiculously in the last couple of years IN COLORADO! If you take the last couple of years, it's basically Lowell's numbers last year for 7 million a year more and he's the same age. Don't get me wrong, I totally would take him but how in the hell can you all get so excited about this move and be so negative about the Drew deal?

Well, from what I've read it's "anything related to" the previous injury. Relations are not that specific.

I actually think Drew will put up surprising numbers this year and maybe for a couple or three. I like the fact the Sox can void the deal after that if they "find" something wrong with him. So I figure Lugo will be the first to fall out of favor only because of who he's replacing at that position (going all the way back to Nomar). But I do believe he'll have his supporters. If he's anything like Cabrera (and he could be) then he'll be fine too. Drew will also have a lot to live up to replacing Trotsky, but I think his power numbers will make us all forget about Trot if he stays healthy. If he stays healthy. If he stays healthy. Cool. At least it's getting some attention now. - funny sidenote. Espn Insider is something I don't subscribe to. Outside of the blogs there really is no reason to pay for it. I wouldn't read most of ESPN the Mag anyway. And it's just stupid to put links to free newspaper articles as one of it's Insider perks. But if they ever put Bill Simmons on the Inside, I'd absolutely pay for it. No questions asked. I hope nobody at ESPN reads this.
