  1. I just reread the article and for some reason I get it now. So basically to watch Extra Innings on TV you need a dish and Direct TV. Or you can pay to watch online - which sucks compared to watching on TV. So I have two options if I want to watch my baseball on TV: Become a Braves fan or move. f***ing wonderful.
  2. That article confused the hell out of me. I pay for the Direct TV package via my cable company so I don't know how that will change for me. If it only effects my local (Braves) coverage, I won't care. And I can't wait for that 24 hour baseball channel!
  3. Kraft would be killed (literally) if he lets coach Bill go.
  4. Someone at work actually bet me $60 the Colts would win this coming Sunday. How could I say no?? What kind of fool actually bets against the Patriots in the playoffs - or bets for Manning? What a sucker. Jeez, I know Manning is due, but he's been due for 12 years. The only thing I worry about is last week being the model to copy for the Colts. Vinatieri could be the difference, but I'll take my chances on that.
  5. Truly amazing win. The Colts are going down and your New England Patriots are Super Bowl bound.
  6. What's Brady's record on turf and in domes?
  7. Well, the Saints won. That should be good for 3 maybe 4 more murders tonight in New Orleans.
  8. If the Pats get past the Chargers, are any of you scared of either of these teams?
  9. He said he only lost 10 lbs. He's also started training. I think he has his eyes set on ST but I think the Sox will hold him back till he's ready. And I think he'll be ready by July.
  10. I honestly think Jon Lester will have an impact on the closer situation next year. I know, I know, I should write him off for next year but... Should the rotation stay healthy, and Lester stay on course for a return by, say, the trade deadline, I really think the club will consider putting Papelbon back in as closer (provided there are problems with Pineiro and the rest) and moving Lester back into the rotation. Again - I think this could be a midseason move. When Lester initially comes back I think they'll start him off in Pawtucket until the time is right to move him up. It's nothing you can count on, but it's certainly far from out of the question.. And it's a better option than trading away talent for someone else's junk closer. Besides, should the Sox make the playoffs next year, where do you think Papelbon will be pitching if everyone else is healthy? Schill will start Matsuzaka will start Beckett and Wake will start and Papelbon will be in the pen anyway. And if he's there, you know he's closing. So why not get him into the role a couple of months earlier? This is my gut talking.
  11. That's interesting. How many games are there in the GCL?
  12. aww. Too bad. Spam is what I thought at first, then I went to the site and it was actually pretty good. If it didn't have a store I wouldn't have considered it spam. But oh well.
  13. I still see a few "new" member names lurking...
  14. I didn't see it. Why did he go for the dunk after the whistle? Was he trying to slow up and it threw off his timing?
  15. Yeah, the Globe or Herald reported this a few days ago. I hope it doesn't happen. It's just a stupid idea.
  16. Well, yes. But for one obvious reason. It was Patriots Day. Patriots Day is the single greatest regular season baseball day of the year for a Red Sox fan. Even better than opening day if you ask me. I always take the day off from work. Start drinking around 10am and watch/listen to the pregame. Game on at 11. It's a great day of baseball devotion for me (and seemingly everyone back in Boston) and to have it end on a walk off by Loretta last year was just perfectly awesome. This year the game starts at 10. Oh god, I do believe I will set the alarm for 6am and be drunk by 9 in the morning. I cannot wait. I love Patriots Day!
  17. If he had 10 more homeruns for the year, he'd have been a keeper. Good luck guy and yes, thanks for the memories. Patriots Day walkoff audio here
  18. Edit: I should have read the poll... I say Donnally will close out of ST but I say Papelbon is the closer by June with Pineiro going into the rotation.
  19. I'd assume by now that a lot of the book is dated.
  20. wow. 6pt game with 9:25 to play.
  21. I'm just glad the RJ/Zito scenario didn't go down in NY. I would have then had to admit that Cashman is a good GM. But now I don't.
  22. Yeah, Pedro went (if my math is correct) 117-37 over seven seasons with the Sox.
