  1. Eh, Ichiro isn't all he's cracked up to be. Damon is at least in the top 5 leadoff hitters, and as such I still am not worried about him. Well I guess you aren't a left handed hitter in the Major Leagues then, are you? Brown hardly has anything to do with "So who wins the East" does he? Comeback player of the year is not on steroids until he's suspended for it. No matter how much you hate to fathom it, he hit those 67 homers in the second half last year cleanly. And the AL MVP is the AL MVP, case closed. I'll take him any day of the week.
  2. Best leadoff hitter in the game, most feared pitcher this side of Rocket, a player not on this team (well done), and the Comeback player of the Year. Yeah I'm horribly depressed out them. Somebody brought up A-Rod too. Yeah it kills me to have the AL MVP on the team, because of his 'cheater' persona. Damn, I thought we were past that nonsense.
  3. Umm, what? So the only way they'll win is if they have massive pitching staff injuries? I know what you are trying to say, but you f***ed it up and are therefore being mocked. Nothing personal. If the sun explodes tomorrow, we'll all die! You can't predict massive injuries any better than you can predict the end of the world. There are few reasons why the Yankees won't win this year, and most of them are based around injuries that haven't yet occured. If you are asking me which I'd put my money on- Talent or Potential Injuries- I'll take talent 10 times out of 10.
  4. Yankees will win the east, that's an easy question. Next topic.
  5. Overall I still think Cano and Giambi will be a smidge better than Snow and Loretta. They'll make up for their defense. Jeter and Rodriguez are also not bad on either side of the ball.
  6. Hannu is 21 and is a keeper Raycroft is 25 and still may improve Thomas is 31 and his stock will never be higher. I think he's the one I trade.
  7. I know nothing about both goalies, but I would say that the most important aspect of a goalie is controlling rebounds, and being in position to make the second save. If you limit second chance opportunities you'll do well in this league. Lundqvist does make spectacular saves, but the reason Ranger fans can tell he's way better than Weekes is that he's always smothering the puck and always in position on rebounds.
  8. I can summarize my feelings about the Ranger game in one very telling word. f***
  9. Dude whatever. There are like 6 people who follow the NHL here, we can confine all the talk to this thread.
  10. Rangers and Flyers are playing tonight at the Garden, that should be a highlight game for the season.
  11. The problem won't be the two points out you guys are out, it will be the 4 teams around you. Boston will have to be better than Montreal, Toronto, Atlanta and Florida the rest of the year to make it.
  12. 10 points clear of Hearts, we should take the league this year. There are few things I love more than seeing Rangers 17 points back.
  13. Manchester United and Glasgow Celtic supporter. I cannot wait until the World Cup, hopefully the US will play well.
  14. Thornton's skill is his passing. He made Glen Murray into a great scorer when they played together. I don't know if Boston has the legs to make the playoffs at the end. Tampa, Toronto and NJ are better teams, and Montreal and Atlanta are going to make it a log jam. If they are going to make a run they will need Raycroft (when healthy) and Thomas to be playing at the top of their games.
  15. Rangers looked dead yesterday except for Lundqvist. They need some time to get their legs back, they're off for 3 days. Next 5 are Pittsburgh and Philly twice, and a game with the Isles. They should at worst do a 3 out of 5.
  16. And they wouldn't have won without Rick Fox during that run either. What's your point?
  17. Baseball has had and will continue to have "great men". If we keep universally retiring jerseys, there won't be any left. The only other one number I would seriously consider retiring is #3, because Ruth really saved the sport.
  18. gotcha, I'll go with 36 then.
  19. I love Pittsburgh in this game, but in the interest of self Date & Time..........Favorite..............Spread........ .....Underdog 2/5 6:30 ET............. Pittsburgh............. -3.5..................Seattle Total Points Scored in the Super Bowl :.................... 36 Pts.
  20. My point is they are a run and gun team that has lots of shots for both clubs (they just allowed 152 points to Seattle, granted there was OT). With that many opportunities, Kobe could have another big game.
  21. Kobe is doing the best thing he can do for the team. If he's able to score 81 why not? The guys around him plain suck. The idea is to win, and when Kobe shoots more often than not they have the best chance to win. So why not?
  22. 55 points in the second half.. that makes it a legitimate argument to think that he could make a run at Wilt.
  23. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/5270892 Just an insane performance. Maybe against a team like the Suns he could make a real run at Wilt:dunno:
  24. It'll be interesting to see if Renney goes to Henrik again, it would be his 4th in 6 nights. He won defensive player of the week and has been playing out of his mind all year. I have a feeling that Weekes will be in nets, giving a huge advantage to the Sabres.
  25. Sens were supposed to be good. The Rangers were being picked 37th in the 30 team league, and are in 4th place due in large part to the coaching.
