    Cotchery saved me. I was down 6 points going into last night's game, and had I lost it would have been the worst thing in the world. Faced off against my girlfriend (long story as to why she's in the league) for third place. Tomlinson picked a great week to not score 5 touchdowns.

    Just got back from my Italian girlfriend's Christmas Eve thing, and I've got the Irish party tomorrow. Lots of pasta last night, some beer and potatoes tomorrow!

    Except Melky's replacement is going to be Bernie Williams. Melky can play all three outfield positions. Bernie can't play any. That will hamstring the team.

    Precisely why I don't want to lose Melky. Bernie as a 4th outfielder is a downgrade in every respect compared to Melky. Except veteran's experience!!!

    Which team's pick did Denver trade besides their own? Should be a deep draft, so Philly has the opportunity to build a good core. I really like Denver's team, now they just need to stay healthy and not suspended.

    Nobody has any idea how Johnson and Beckett will rebound, nor how Matsuzaka and Pettitte will transfer to the American League or how Papelbon will transfer to the rotation. And the health of Schilling and Mussina will always be an issue. To try and project rotations is pretty futile.

    Good. Make this rumor go away, because trading Melky for a RP is stupid. 22 years old, paid nothing, plays great defense, and is the perfect safety net for someone getting injured in the outfield. We have a lot of arms for the bullpen, we don't need to be trading an asset like Melky for another one.

    You paid over $17 million for him, it isn't exactly a bargain. It falls right in line with the rest of the market. However, I told all of you that a deal was getting done no matter what. Don't act so surprised.

    If Theo had the upper hand, Matsuzaka would be playing for $8 million a year. Don't kid yourself. The fact that he's upped his offer without receiving a counter proposal tells me that Boras is still controlling these negotiations. The deal will get done, the question is how much is Theo going to bend over for Boras.

    Theo's signing the eleventy billion dollar contract as we speak.

    Boras is just agent-ing. He's drawing a hard line in the sand and putting the pressure on Theo and the Sox. That's what (good) agents do, and that's why A-Rod can make $252 million. If Boston panics, he's going to get paid a truck load of money. If they don't, he'll get paid an SUV full of money. Either way, he's getting a good chunk of change because Boras is doing exactly what he needs to do to get top dollar. The Boston press conference will tell if they're going to blink or not. There's no way he ends up back in Japan. Although I think that would be hilarious, and I'd love to see the fallout from an anarchist's standpoint.
