    I say it's 62. Bonds broke the law to get his record, Rodriguez is apparently doing it on sheer talent. The fact that he's a Yankee really doesn't play into my thought process. He's doing it clean, and if it wasn't for some guys cheating, 62 would be the new record. I give it to Rodriguez.

    Why would you expect him to admit they are done? This is just about the most optimistic time the Yankees have had all season. The pitching is relatively healthy and the hitting is coming around, and they're winning games in bunches. Now is not the time to be expecting people to be jumping off the ledge.

    I read today that his first three starts will probably line up against National League teams. I don't care who he beats, as long as we get wins. He's an upgrade over DeSalvo or Chase Wright.

    I didn't go through everything because I have to get my brother from school now, but I don't see the need to blow everything up. I'd be interested to follow the Dye for Abreu storyline. I think that could be a huge upgrade. Guys, the season isn't over. Not even half over.

    And that steal by Dave Roberts was just one base. There's a bigger picture to this game than just "hey it's still 12.5." We homered off Papelbon and rallied off Okajima in the 8th and 9th innings, and took 2 of 3 at Fenway, which means something. Overall I think this week is very big. If the Yankees can gain some ground and do something good against the White Sox this week and the A's can steal a game or two, it would really shoot some confidence into the ballclub going into Clemens' start this weekend against the Pirates. There is a lot of room between the clubs, but it certainly is not over. Too much time left in this very long season. The Twins made up how much ground last year to win the Central? Something like.. 12.5 games? It can be done.
