  1. 6 IP, 2 Hits, 8 K's. And fresh off of the DL. The Cubs are very happy to welcome back their ace. He's gonna start like Clemens. (he got the ND today, but expect 10 straight wins starting with his next appearance)
  2. And I got my Clemens Astros tshirt in the mail today! Much respect due to the Rocket.
  3. bobgeorge - welcome to the board. Mirabelli seems to hit a lot of HR's for someone who only plays once every 5 days. And speaking of HRs...the yankees have hit 6 tonight. Bleh.
  4. Here's to backing up Petey - 7-4 Sox...and I'm off to bed.
  5. I was at that game, if I remember correctly.
  6. Seinfeld was great when Jerry and Larry co-wrote it. AFter Larry left the show, it sorta slowed down a bit. And Curb Your Enthusiasm is great, but with just Larry, it doesn't quite have the kick that the Larry/Jerry Seinfeld combo had. They should just team up and come up with a new show.
  7. The good news folks - Contreras blew again. 2/3 of an inning. Brutal.
  8. It's just cause all the sox fans voted for Millar..probably without realizing that Ortiz could be written in. Also, Isn't there like an All-Star that isn't from the ballots?
  9. It was a funny argument to watch anyway. Welcome to the site.
  10. Sox pull out a run in the first... Jeter is now 3-4 with a double and a HR.
  11. Well, what did you expect? I think he'll bat around .260 for the year, but you can't expect him to keep it at .220. About the game tonight - Colon's been off his game recently. So I think he'll be either really off and be out in a few innings, or just be absolutely dominating. As for our resilient #5 starter, I'm looking for about 5-6 innings with 3 ER. That'd be ideal. Any more is a plus.
  12. PS - Nomar went 2-3 today with 2 singles, a walk, and a foul-out.
  13. Welcome to the board Beaneater - and you're not alone. There are a few fans on this board from far away from Boston who don't get to see many games. But I guess Africa wins distance-wise.
  14. How cool would it be to live in Pawtucket, be a Bosox fan, buy tickets way in advance for this game, show up, and Nomar's playing. Pretty cool. It's funny seeing nomar in a different uniform. Yet...so sexy. Straightly.
  15. I think Lowe needs to be put on the DL until he can work out all of his skin s***. Skin cancer, then blisters, soon it's all just gonna fall off. But they can't put him on the DL, because the only emergency starter we have left is Scotty Williamson...and he's on the DL. I dunno if we can bring up any more minor leaguers. Wakefield will just have to pitch two days in a row (which, frighteningly, he may be capable of doing).
  16. Nope. Derek Lowe, not surprisingly, gave up 7 runs in 5 innings. 4 walks, no K's. R-Lo was dominating, giving up only 1 run.
  17. Lowe NEEDS to take it easy. He got his first win in a month last time out, and he sucked. Maybe, finally, he'll wake up, realize he sucks, and pitch well.
  18. That was awesome. I'm glad that if Foulke blew one, we wouldn't have to lose. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Martinez pitched really well again, and got another victory. And youki was sick, and Dominique was sick. Good game for all. 'Cept foulke and ortiz.
  19. It just shows that he has the ability to be perfect. Maybe he'll be like RJ and wait till he's 40. He'll get there. He's dominant nonetheless.
  20. PS Tampa has a 3-0 lead on NY.
  21. Bellhorn singles then youkilis doubles.... I like how this game is going so far.
  22. from the Boston Globe. Oh well. I'm glad they're not taking any chances, his avg. dropped from 300 to 270 since the injury, he obviously needs something to get it back.
  23. Curt is 4-0 at fenway this season with an ERA below 2. He's given up 2 ER or fewer in 7 of 10 starts this season...it's in the bag.
  24. We can't expect him to do it twice in a row. On the other hand, manny is ridiculously good. Is he leading the league in HRs now?
  25. Nice little comeback, 5-4 Seattle. Let's here it for bringing in people who can play baseball- Varitek and Reese.
