  1. Just a bit of info - Lowe is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 2 starts in June. That's not much to judge him on, but maybe he's settling down.
  2. Hanley Ramirez is mine fellas.
  3. J. Damon cf M. Bellhorn 2b D. Ortiz 1b M. Ramirez lf N. Garciaparra ss T. Nixon rf J. Varitek c K. Youkilis 3b C. Schilling p I look at this lineup...and I shed a tear. It's near perfect...almost the way it was meant to be all season (I believe it was destiny for Youk to take over for Mueller), and Bellhorn and Pokey are interchangable offensively (as of right now), plus there won't be too many ground balls to worry about. This lineup is a beautiful thing.
  4. Hopefully all this Marcaine won't hurt him in some other way. Stronger than Novocaine...can you say ADDICTION?
  5. If I grow up to be mad rich with a ton of money to throw around, and Williams is still there, I'd get both of them unfrozen, do to Teddy whatever it said in his will to do, and then throw John Henry's body to a pack of wild hungry boars. That's right, boars.
  6. I didn't know that about Piazza, that's pretty cool. Anyway, there's not much they can do about it now. At least there's still a small fight for the body to be removed.
  7. Trot and Nomar back on the field together for the first time in months. It will be a good sight to see.
  8. I know Hanley Ramirez was out with an injury a little while ago...is he back yet?
  9. Ahhh. 90 minute sports center with only baseball and golf. I think I need a new pair of pants.
  10. Clemens was handed his first loss of the season..he's now 9-1, and human afterall. Todd Walker his a couple HRs, and Prior went 5 shutout innings.
  11. Soxsuck - your intelligence astounds us. Really. Enjoy your ban.
  12. Great post fella! If all posts could be that informative, we'd all be better off. Yankees suck.
  13. After pitching well again...we are starting to see the Pedro of old. As long as it's above 70 degees in his starts, it looks like all will be a-ok with the Sox co-ace.
  14. Oh the sweet, sweet smell of offensive power.
  15. I agree. Whoever merged the threads is the greatest super mod on the planet ever.
  16. The best part was that Pokey surprised even himself on that leap into God knows where to catch that ball. That was among the best grabs I've ever seen.
  17. One away Griffey...he'll get it his next start on a grand slam.
  18. What a surprise...Nomo chased before the 4th inning ended. He's just having a terrible season. Pedro's pitching fine, just too many pitches.
  19. I think Williamson is a better alternative to Castillo. He used to start....and if he's anywhere near as dominating as a starter as he is a reliever, I'd say that's a good alternative.
  20. We'll find out in 40 minutes, won't we? I'm as curious as you. I'm pretty sure Jerry said on friday that he wasn't announcing today, which leads me to believe it's only on ESPN.
  21. Umm, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Schilling isn't being pampered...his MRI clearly shows he'll need surgery, what the management is worrying about is aggrivating his injury. So first off it isn't pampering, it's being careful. As for nomar and pedro not receiving "pampering," what more pampering do they need? Nomar is just off his injury, and giving him the day off now every few days is "pampering" enough. And I haven't seen Pedro do much this year to deserve pampering. I believe him and nomar are in their contract years, and that instead of asking for pampering, they should be asking to play everyday, and give it their all, maybe impress the team enough to give them the money they're asking for. PS... schilling is a god, and therefore deserves some pampering.
  22. With a big f***ing dagger on the end of it.
  23. My opinion: why give him the option to aggrivate it more? I'd say if he's going to sit 2-4 weeks, he should do it ASAP so that a) it doesn't get worse and so that we have him strong when we really need him - later in the season. As much as I don't like Kim, he's coming back from Korea and is due to be activated on Wednesday, and if these 3 weeks in Korea maybe helped return him to form, the lack of Schilling might not hurt us as bad as we think. The fact is they have to drug him before everygame, and even that's not enough to ease the pain when he throws his fastball. As much as I love Schilling and want him pitching, it's better for him and the team if he sits now. The sox have said they're going to pitch him against Colorado then take an MRI. Fine, do it, and if he's feels okay and not in pain and his ankle doesn't look worse then his last MRI, then I take back what I just said.
  24. It's looking to either be a great matchup (if Prior pitches like his first start) or a total blowout(if he pitches like his second: 3 2/3, 5 ER, 5 BB, 1 K). You know Clemens will do okay, his last start against Chicago he went 7 IP and gave up a run. I'm hoping for the pitcher's duel.
  25. I'm quite excited for this game. It's going to be on ESPN, Nomo gets to take shots at his old team, Pedro at his old team. Pedro doesn't have a good record against the Dodgers (1-3) but looks as though he's regained his confidence and will start his Pedro-domination again. Nomo is 3-6 on the season with a 7.33 ERA, and hasn't gone more than 6 innings in a start this year, this is his second start since coming off the DL.
