  1. No posts about Arroyo's performance? I think his best outing in a Sox uniform. Congrats to him on a job well done, but the game's not over yet.
  2. Any seats that are one row behind a much more expensive section: Loge Box vs Infield grandstand. 65 v 45. Those are fun. I've never sat in the monster, but I assume it's awesome.
  3. Ortiz hits a JACK. Manny and Tek are remaining hot.
  4. I'm sorry, but I just can't help watching this guy. I find myself cheering for him every at-bat. He's on pace to hit 97 HRs this year. He hit them in 7 straight games. Steroids or not, this dude is the most dangerous hitter in the game. I personally believe he is on some sort of supplement, but not steroids.
  5. So we got Brad Thomas from the Twins. I just hope we don't do something stupid in the process of giving them a player. Thomas is injured, he will start the season on the AAA DL. I don't really know anything about him, except that he is 53-51 with a 3.87 ERA in 169 career minor league outings, mostly starts. Not that impressive in the ML: 0-3, 9.89 ERA in 11 games pitched. He's 26, so hopefully that thing about kicking ass in your late 20s will kick in.
  6. Great game! Foulke and Wakefield were awesome. Is it just me, or does it seem like Mirabelli hits more HRs than he actually does? Like, I thought I remembered him hitting more than 6 last year.
  7. Wake should have a good outing, hopefully Lilly won't. Pedro looked good yesterday, Schilling is a monster for tomorrow as usual, and Lowe is in a must win situation on Friday against the Yanks.
  8. I think what we have here is a case of poor managerial skills. Sorry Terry, but you just CAN'T go through that many pitchers. You have Timlin - make him go a FULL innings. Have Malaska go 2, have Embree go 2. How about Williamson, a former starter? Any reason he can't do long relief? Instead, the Sox are now on their 7th pitcher, Arroyo, who is scheduled to start this weekend. He gave up a HR to the 1st batter he faced. If Ortiz, Manny, and Millar can keep it alive...I'm still sticking to what I said. You're wasting talent, Terry. Put Castillo against the Orioles, give him some time to get into the season. It's going to be very difficult pitching him against the Yankees for his 1st major league appearance since '02. Good luck for the rest of the night Boston, see y'all tomorrow.
  9. JOHNNY! MUELLER!!! 5-2 sox.
  10. Hi RedSoxRooter, we're Sox fans too!
  11. That was a hell of a shot. I watched it on espn live as well. They cut to the SF game everytime he had an at-bat. He hit it, the stadium went nuts, it was gone before he finished his swing.
  12. Burkett was not bad. He was consistent, always doing what was expected. He went 25-17 in two years with the Sox. I'll take it.
  13. Something I heard - did the Canadien fans boo during the US Nat'l Anthem at the Bruins game? Is this just a rumor...could someone confirm? I'd be a little upset if they were.
  14. Sandlot is the best baseball movie ever. "The Jet stole home, the Jet stole home!!" Major League is an excellent baseball movie. "Too high, too high!"
  15. That's a pretty ballsy signature ARod.
  16. Off days just suck for us. I need my Sox fix!
  17. Honestly: who cares? He's not that good, and they'll be paying him a bunch of money. I have nothing against Aaron Boone - he was just doing his job, he got very lucky, I highly doubt it will happen again.
  18. Also - Bellhorn has 10 walks in 7 games. OBP attack!
  19. Well, as a coach I had once said...A win is a win is a win is a win. We won today. I am happy.
  20. I was mostly referring to the 10 K's and 0 BB.
  21. What's weird is I was always for the Expos coming to Boston. It's not like it would take away from the Red Sox, it would just be something else to do. The only problem with that is that the Expos could not ever be nearly as popular as the Sox. Which is why their best place to go is either Puerto Rico or Mexico.
  22. That's actually a really, REALLY good idea. I didn't know Malaska was so good.
  23. MALASKA + ORTIZ = But, c'mon. I'm getting sick of this. I mean, Ortiz ALWAYS wins the game for us. Can't it be someone else? Malaska was great. Foulke was great. Schilling was great. Bobby Jones should be raped by Rich Garces. I mean, he should not play baseball.
  24. Any thoughts? As much as I like Daubach, we have plenty of depth in the bench with Burks, McCarty, not to mention Crespo, Kapler, and Bellhorn when we have a healthy lineup. Can't have enough pitching.
  25. Don't lose faith. Bellhorn DID hit a homerun last night.
