  1. Even I'm starting to become a fan. 5-0? What an unbelievable comeback. He is the ace of the Yankee staff.
  2. THAT is what baseball is all about. How is it that Pedro just gets better and better with each game he pitches?
  3. Wow. That was a TOWERING homerun. Youkilis is so nasty, it's ridiculous. Hoping for a good outing from Pedro...
  4. I actually looked again, and he was hitting at .333 before going 0-6 yesterday. He was also the only member in the lineup yesterday to not be walked. I think he definitely needs some more patience at the plate...45 AB without a walk is kind of frightening.
  5. Hanley has now played 10 games for the Sea Dogs, and is 13-45 (.289) without any walks. He also has a HR with 5 RBI, and a couple of doubles. He seems to be adjusting well to the new league, and I only see more greatness to come from this prospect.
  6. Great post Beaneater. I couldn't agree more.
  7. I wouldn't mind you being here that much if you could type in a language we're all used too. It isn't really very difficult to spend the extra ten seconds to spell out a full word. Thanks. Signed, Everyone.
  8. I'll be at the game tonite, should be a good one. My first live look at Schilling. (unless i'm forgetting one)
  9. Yeah. Like Yeszir said. The Cheesecake Factory in Newton is DAMN good.
  10. This may be the strangest game I have ever seen.
  11. El duque is NASTY. Period. Yankee or not.
  12. 7 k's through 3 innings so far. Dirty. EDIT: 8 k's through 3 1/3. That's right, he's struck out 8 of 11 (one hit)
  13. Oh that's something else I've been thinking about. Let's not blame Francona for Sveum's idiocy. With no outs, you DO NOT send the runner on a close play.
  14. These non-game days give me some time to vent, lower my blood pressure, etc. I've been reading up on all these anti-Nomar articles, the latest entry in Kevin Millar's diary, and the stats of D. Lowe vs. Maroth tomorrow. For the health of Boston, let's try to get a win against the tigers.
  15. Michael Barrett wears number 5. I think Nomar should get it back....cause that's his number.
  16. Funny... he appears to play for the sox now!!
  17. Hanley is currently the best hitter on the Sarasota Red Sox, leading the team batting .310. Unfortunately, he also leads the team with 17 errors. His .310 avg would be good for 3rd best in Florida State League, however, he hasn't played enough games (he's one game short of the league leader in BA). Things are looking good...he does need a defensive tuneup.
  18. I'm all for GM's going with the moneyball ideals. What is WRONG is the manager going strictly by them. The players Theo signs are signed because of the moneyball ideals. But when Francona doesn't go by his gut and just by the stats, or when Little only went by his got and ignored the stats, we have/had a problem. We need a combination of the two.
  19. I did that on purpose. Is it a pro or con? For teams like the Expos...pro, no question. For the Red Sox... I don't know. We'd have equal payroll with the Yankees, but also for everyone else. Me personally, I'm against the salary cap (as you've seen in this thread,) but I put that one as both pro or con, because it's tough to tell.
  20. PROS for salary cap: Will eventually lead to lowering prices at Fenway and all ballparks Every team's fate will be decided by the intelligence of their general management, and who they can sign. Scott Boras will finally f*** himself All teams are pretty much equal, and start from zero. CONS for salary cap: All teams are pretty much equal, and start from zero. Teams already have players, and would have to renegotiate contracts, and that would have to be allowed, making an already complicated process even more difficult. The Sox/Yanks rivalry may die. We have always been the underdogs, the yankees the big spenders, if both teams are equal, or god forbid, the sox are better, then the bitter hatred of a rivalry we have may vanish. Just some thoughts, feel free to add onto any list.
  21. She is quite hot. Tennis is cool too.
  22. tek33rules - Where in the f*** do you get your stats from? This is the third time I've had to change them. Schilling - 10-4 3.24 ERA
  23. Tonight, two angels got a set of wings. Millar is benched, and Crespo is cut. I think I could sing a song. Great return for Bill Muelle, an RBI in his 1st at bat. Lovin it. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, your Boston Red Sox.
