  1. Yes. I merged it with an existing thread.
  2. Of course Pedro and Randy miss each other by a year, Seeing them square off Sox v. Yanks would be something special, thats for sure.
  3. I just merged topics and moved them to general baseball.
  4. Damn. I hope this doesnt mean we have to overpay and settle with Clement. I'd like to see us go after Burnett personally.
  5. I still believe Kim could turn himself into a very respectable #4 guy over the next few years. He's a headcase, as is Lowe, but Lowe showed signs of brilliance. The guy's only what, 27?
  6. Pedro goes the distance, against the Angels in 2003. I think yes. As for '99 ALDS Bosox Rule, amen. That was absolutely the most dominant thing I have ever seen. I forgot how badly Sabe got rocked in that game.
  7. From wikipedia:
  8. You're talking about August 6th, 2003. A good game, no doubt, but not one of Pedro's "most amazing ever". 9. Or how about August 29th, 2000? Pedro has had a boatload of amazing performances. PITCHING Boston Red Sox IP H HR R ER BB K P. 10. Honorable mention: May 6th, 2000. My Bar Mitzvah. This was a game we should have won. I watched it from the top of the Pru through binoculars. He was dominant. Box Score: PITCHING Tampa Bay Devil Rays IP H HR R ER BB K Trachsel W(2-2) 9 3 0 0 0 3 11 Boston Red Sox IP H HR R ER BB K P. Martinez L(5-1) 9 6 0 1 1 1 17 Ironically, schilling also pitched a gem of a game, with a complete game shutout for the phillies on the same day.
  11. Wow. Just looking over Pedro's stats is amazing. '97, '99, '00 are the most amazing years...it's sad to see him go. It still hasnt hit me I guess.
  12. I'm Jewish too, its just that Hannukah has already passed... Don't worry, there's still love. I may go all out for Yom Kippur or something next year. You never know.
  13. Ahahahaha I may... By the way, like the Christmas touch? Very festive I think.
  14. Unfortunately Els, you were wrong about letting Rent go. As for Burnett, I think he'd make a great, albeit risky #2 (or even 3) guy behind Schill (and/or wells). He's young and has amazing potential. Imagine if we could secure him and then got Sheets next year. We'd have a great young pitching staff. Burnett is 27, and he can throw 100. Through careful work load (basically treating him like Pedro), I'm sure the sox can get a great season out of him. Anyway, it looks to me at least that Burnett would be the best pitcher to get. It's doubtful that Hudson will sign in my mind.
  15. I find it ironic that Renteria made the last out in the world series, only to come to the sox for the next season.
  16. I agree. He'll be facing new batters who may fear him more than AL batters have for the past few years. The only downside to the NL for Pedro is that he'll have to bat, so he may be more reluctant to come in on batters and scare them off the plate when the repurcussions of hitting them may be a plunk in the back. Plus he looks so scrawny at the plate.
  17. If you'll remember, he goes to Northeastern.
  18. Ouch, going from "tek" to "cancer" doesnt sound like a great idea in my book. Maybe we should just re-sign tek?
  19. Exactly. Let's not get all Roger Clemens with Pedro. His years with us were the best any pitcher has ever pitched, and thats saying something. I wish him success in New York, provided it's only with the Mets and not against us.
  20. Was that a pregnancy reference in the thread title?
  21. Soxonfox, i merged your topic here. Look for other threads before posting, please.
  22. I don't even know what a "labrum" is, let alone that Pedro has a tear in his...
  23. He was also, what, 26? Not many pitchers are already in the HOF when they're 26.
