  1. Welcome back, keep checking in, we have big things coming over the winter!
  2. Thanks for starting the game thread today! The path to October continues to grow more tenuous for the Sox. They really needed a better performance against the Tigers. It's so weird to see three AL Central teams holding postseason spots in September. Baseball is a weird sport, man.
  3. Yeah, just can't have this kind of series this late in the season. Losing to Skubal is fine, he's incredible. But they needed to bounce back this afternoon and did not.
  4. It's Rich Hill! My most vivid memory of Hill was pitching for the Twins in 2020 when there were no crowds and you could hear him drop an f-bomb after roughly half his pitches.
  5. BTW @moonslav59, thank you for starting a new thread about this! Topics like this are great conversation-starters.
  6. I agree in that had Breslow had more money to spend, I think he would have done so wisely. But this is a recurring trend across baseball. The Twins would be SO MUCH better if ownership hadn't slashed payroll by $35m (!!!!!!!). That's literally the price of one Carlos Correa. The Brewers are also down a bit. The Cubs, one of the premier franchises in baseball, are toying with staying under the CBT threshold. I'm not a fan of this trend, to put it mildly.
  7. Frankly, the Twins are a better developmental organization right now. If you look at the guys they've drafted and developed, they're in the upper third of baseball. They're quietly very good at what they're doing. I view Breslow today as the Twins' current regime in 2017, maybe 2018. I think he's on the right path, he just can't get there overnight.
  8. I had to put them behind a userwall while I clean up some really bad conversations from the past. I'll promote your user status and it will appear for you now.
  9. I'm trying to prep the site for our advertisers and that means searching for trolls and wildly inappropriate discussions. I'm amazed this forum still exists given the depth of depravity you've faced with trolling over the years. Are these Yankees fans? Or just awful people with no lives? I've never seen anything THIS bad.
  10. SHOCKING! That forum is a hot mess. It's a bummer, as Mariners fans deserve a better place to post that isn't Reddit or Facebook.
  11. No, the scores will be in their own thread once voting closes.
  12. Anyone interested in casting their votes? Voting is still open for a few days but I wanted to bring this to more peoples' attention.
  13. Mostly we refrain from continued bashing of player or personnel because it tends to spiral. Grudges are built and it spills over into the rest of the board. If some form of decorum is maintained, it prevents a lot of squabbling before it begins.
  14. I suppose in that case it really boils down to frequency and intent. While I'm not a fan of speaking ill of peoples' physical appearance, way back in the day our forum called Sidney Ponson "Pitcherpotamus" and that nickname was just too effing funny to get upset about.
  15. To be 100% honest, I was tired of those ****ty Octobers. It just wore me out and given how I've lived all over the country and have interest in lots of teams, it wasn't a big stretch for me to start expanding my horizons.
  16. Thank you! I'd love to start a Mariners site but the only forum I've found is kinda toxic so... *shrugs*
  17. Thanks! I'm one of the owners of Twins Daily. I'm the tech guy; kinda grew bored with the Twins over the years and wanted to explore other sites.
