All I ask for is a little patience. I know the system is new and different but it's a lot easier to use than that ancient vBulletin instance if you give it a shot. You can copy and paste all sorts of things into the editor and it "just works". And you get user tagging, reactions, and a ton of other stuff. I already opened prospect voting here and that's just the tip of the iceberg of what's coming.

There was a merging glitch while trying to move that one forum. It still exists, it's just hanging in limbo until I can figure out what happened. Not sure when it will appear but I don't think it's a long-term issue.

Time to open our first round of Red Sox prospect voting! 1. You must have an account and be logged in to vote. If you don't have an account, click here. It literally requires 60 seconds to create an account. 2. Review our current top 20 prospect list, catch up on stats, rankings, etc. (you can do so from the voting page link below) 3. Have your prospect list in your dirty little paws? Then flip on over to the new prospect voting page (after reading the rest of this, please). https://talksox.com/prospect-voting 4. Voting is super simple, you drag and drop players in the order you wish them to be. After you move a prospect, the list automatically renumbers so you don't lose track of the order. This works on mobile devices but it's a *vastly* better experience on desktop. Sorry, that's just how this kind of thing works. There's no great way to make something like this be as awesome on a phone screen. 5. Each prospect has a comment section where you can add any commentary you have on that player. At the bottom of the list, there is a general comment section to explain over-arching things you wish to mention. 6. Don't see a prospect you want to put on the list? Just pop back here and give me a mention (in a comment, start typing @Brock Beauchamp or @Seth Stohs as they appear). Mention the prospect you want added and I will do that asap. 7. Once you're done with all of it, click Save. You've now voted! 8. When the voting closes, a new thread will automatically generate in this forum with all of your rankings and comments for everyone to read and talk about. 9. You can only vote once. If you have voted in error, pop back here and tag Brock, asking to have your vote deleted. It will be removed and you can vote again. Voting will close at end of day Wednesday, September 4th!

Posts are missing for a few hours
Brock Beauchamp replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Yeah, for sure. What happened is that the conversion ended late last night and then the system starts processing all the old posts in the new system. Because it was so late, I missed this HUGE batch process and all the forum changes slid in behind it. So basically, I'm just waiting for the system to finish processing like 1.8m posts - which takes like 15 hours - after which all the forum changes I made late last night will appear within a few minutes. -
There are some background tasks consuming resources and until that completes later this morning, posts and forum will not appear. All of this should be sorted out by mid-day or so, I hope.

Before we discuss the articles, you will notice that the forums are still complete and in mostly the same spot as before. It’s all still there. The only addition you may notice is that there is a new forum for commenting on the front-page articles. So, what can you look for and expect from the front-page articles of Talk Sox? To answer that, I’d like to encourage you to click on our sister site, Twins Daily, for what you might see over time from some of your favorite Red Sox writers. Here is what you may find over time: Deep statistical analysis on a player or topic. For those who enjoy looking into baseball's many advanced statistics, some articles may help provide reasons for team or managerial decisions, situational analysis, and more. Minor league articles. The plan is to have daily minor league reports on the Red Sox affiliates throughout the minor league season. You will see how the teams did, how the players performed, some highlights, and more. In addition, we will provide prospect rankings and more. Player profiles on major-league players or minor league players. As relationships are developed, we hope to do some player interviews and stories. Maybe there will be stories on current minor leaguers, big leaguers, or even former big leaguers who call New England home. News articles from the day. If a player gets hurt, we will try to analyze how the front office will adjust the roster and maybe how the manager will alter lineups, rotations, roles, etc. Trade or free agent analysis. Draft coverage before, during, and following the MLB Draft. Historical articles digging into some of the great (or not-so-great) Red Sox teams since the formation of the team in 1901. But the history of baseball in Boston is long and filled with interesting topics and stories of the Red Sox, Braves, and more. Video! In the coming days, we’ll roll out our video section, which will feature short videos about Red Sox major and minor league players. We are not looking to duplicate Twins Daily. This community is already so very strong, so passionate. We want to add to that community and provide more options for Red Sox fans to connect to their favorite team. The articles, much like the writers, will likely evolve, and that’s a good thing. What if I want to write for Talk Sox? That’s a great question. I’m glad you asked. First, feel free to reach out to email at brock.beauchamp@talksox.com or contact any of the other writers and express interest. But, you will also note that the user blogs page is still there. If you’ve ever wanted an audience for your Red Sox takes, this is the perfect place. We will frequently be monitoring the blogs, and if we see quality writing and interesting topics, we may reach out to you about writing on the front page. It is also noteworthy that we will be paying our front-page article writers. It’s certainly not enough to quit your day job. So don’t do that. However, it might be enough to show that we value your time, talent, and effort. We ask that you support our writers by clicking on their articles, reading them, and leaving comments, questions, and feedback on the topics. This is just an extension of the forums and another means of enjoying following the Red Sox. I am seriously looking forward to knowing much more about the Red Sox, their farm system, and more. You can also follow Talk Sox on X and Facebook.

Welcome to an all-new front page here at Talk Sox!
