Im realizing more and more how the righty lefty matchup is driving baseball and managerial and player decisions.  The below chart on the Red Sox is revealing.  Micky Gasper has been on a tear - why doesnt he play every day?  The answer is he feasts on RHP but cant hit LHP.  Adley Rutschman and Conner Wong complement each other because Wong is strong against LHP and Rutschman is strong vs RHP.  Contreras hits everything well and Durbin is not as good as Contreras but hits both sides somewhat equally.  The bench needs to be stacked with specialists and Anthony feasts on RHP and Mead feasts on LHP.  This is a great chart to understand the Red Sox better - the Yankee chart show that their starters are strong vs RHP and weaker against lefties but Judge and Goldschmidt destroy LHPs.

I think you have to look at Duran as a platoon in left at this point. The uncompetitive AB’s just keep stacking up.

i’ve had two thoughts with Duran.
1- what I stated up above. Him and J Jones. Platoon left Field throughout 26.

2- when Anthony gets back play him in left-field, and if monasterio has been replaced at shortstop, then use Gasper and Monasterio at DH. Give Duran a solid week off of no baseball just let him reset.

You forgot Seigler, who could be playing vs RHPs:

.785 v R (career .670)

.550 v L (career .592)

The biggest "don'ts" look like Duran v LHPs and Monasterio v RHPs.

Just kind of funny things I think about, but who made the pre-season wager that Money would be our SS, Sogard would be our 2B, that Crochet and Anthony basically miss the year, and that we'd still be in the hunt?

Or that we'd have three infielders getting regular times, obtained in a trade using a throw-in player from the Devers trade?

At the time, I thought Harrison was the "prize" of the trade, but when he spent most of his time in AAA, it looked like there was no prize, except salary relief.
