I'll watch to see if Fitts can continue to pitch well. He needs to get the k/9 a little higher though. 3.4 isn't going to do it with his stuff. Festa should rack up a few k's of his own in this one.

Twins fan here.  If there's a critical mass of Sox fans taking part, we could have some fun watching the game together.  May the least worse team win!

Because I'm totally ignorant of how moderation works here (I do have a pretty good inkling at TwinsDaily), I'll throw out this provocative question: does anyone here have to suppress a snicker when they see the name Richard Fitts?  What were his parents thinking?

(Am I about to earn my first warning point on my first day?)

I shared a class in high school with a student named Richard Liss.

Your favorite team was very cruel to the White Sox this season (12-1).

A police line-up would do better offensively than this SOX line-up.

Wednesday night a Rays' pitcher had an immaculate inning against the SOX. Three K's on nine pitches.

Last night one hit by the SOX prevented them from having a combined perfect game pitched against them.

Which is the only reason the Twins are not below .500 themselves.

What we have tonight is a match up of two mediocre teams. Neither deserves to make the PO's, but, obviously, deserves has nothing to do with it.

Btw, you being a Twinkies' fan probably are not aware of this, but if the SOX finish the season at 2-7, they will be 78-84. It would be the 3rd season in a row where they finished at 78-84. I seriously doubt a team having the same W/L record for 3 straight years has ever happened before. So there's that.

There are some party poopers here that want the SOX to win 79.

And there's one Angry Bird here who doesn't want the SOX to win any more games, so they can get a better draft pick.

Over at TwinsDaily we have a year-long Fun With Numbers thread.  This would qualify.  😀

Your great state has produced some of the greatest music artists ever. I love music, so thank you Minnesota.

Dylan, Prince - who else makes your top list of MN musicians?

Boston area has too many to list.  My adopted town of Natick (2015-21) has Jonathan Richman of Modern Lovers fame - I enjoyed knowing that the Stop & Shop I bought groceries at was involved in one of his songs, if I recall correctly.

Correa with a nice base hit there.  He's having a standout season, when healthy.  "When healthy" could be the defining characteristic for a lot of the roster our front office has assembled.

The Replacements, to name another. There was also a surf band from your state, The Trashmen. I'm also a big fan of the John Sandford novels.

I'm not from Mass, but a great Boston band was The Pixies.

He had to reintroduce himself to the 1st base coach.

I hadn't done my pre-game scouting*, but just checked and yep, Devers has been cold for the last 4 weeks or so. I've always considered him pretty reliable.  Dinged up a little?

* Full disclosure, I never do.

Over at TwinsDaily we're big believers in jinxes, but I'll go ahead and say anyway that I haven't watched Festa before but he's locating really, really well tonight.
