Crawford has found a new way to stink. Fewer dingers, just as many runs.

A problem in our rotation especially his last four starts including this one.

The umps missed call on the first batter made a huge difference in this inning. They would’ve had no runs. Instead, Cora leaves Crawford in one batter too long. You can’t let him face Bobby Witt in that situation. Dumb dumb, dumb.

Crawford has been straight garbage for four starts in a row. He’s hurting us.

The dinger off Bernardino was a low sinker on the inside corner to a lefty batter. Not a bad pitch, actually.

I was thinking the same thing. This KCR team is tough.

This game is on Cora

What a crock. This was the same old Crawford in his 4th straight starting disaster. Plus, when Bernardino came in, he gave up a dinger. In his first 3 starts since the ASG he went 4.2, 5.1, and 5.1 innings and gave up 6, 5, and 5 ER's. Tonight he went 4.2 innings and gave up 6 runs.

You can spin this anyway you want, but it's got to be deflating to the SOX batters that they have to continue to score 6 to 7 runs most games to have a any chance of winning.

The shortage of starting pitching became a reality after Giolito went down, followed by Whitlock. The pickup , months later, of Paxton is a bandaid not a long term solution. I would run Criswell out there in Kutter's turns.

Breslow will still need to find 4 starters over the winter because he is losing Paxton and Pivetta, unless he wants them back. Clearly there is no one in Worcester ready to move up.

This topic has now existed through the last 2 years of Bloom and 1 of Breslow but no real fixes have been made.

I'd say 'toast' at this point would define most of the starting staff.

At least the others have been showing glimmers for 3-4 IP, here and there.

Agreed. There is no excuse for not trying to find a few more Criswell types. Sure, we might end up with 1 Criswell and 5 Chase Andersons, but we signed just the two.

Today is a getaway day for the Sox , going for a sweep. The game is not over with just a 4 run separation. But teams on getaway day lose 62 % of the time , surely in a hurry to get home and see Momma.
