Yet another 93 mph fast ball right down the middle for a K, this time by Duran.

Maybe all the Sox have "can't hit mid to upper zone fastball" disease.

It's a LH heavy batting offense that hasn't had much success against lefty pitching. It wouldn't be a stretch to state that Rafaela has been the SOX most productive RH batter.

Always a gamble to have a reliever go two. Hell, it's a gamble when they go one. It's just the nature of the job.

That being said; good job by Kelly. He's been solid so far this season.

More bad news:

The starters for the Dodgers tomorrow and Sunday are both LH. Not looking good. Our starters better be as good as Pivetta was tonight, because runs may be at a premium for the SOX.

Looks like Abreu lost his groove again. Must have been that 4 day break.

The umpire screwed Wilyer and Yoshida on the first pitch changing the whole AB, although Yoshi coped and got the hit. Wilyer is still learning the game

9 basehits for 1 run vs 1 swing for 4 runs. That's baseball and why field goals don't beat touchdowns

8 base hits for zero runs. No timely hitting tonight, but the Dodgers, even w/o Betts, is the better team. I just felt bad for Pivetta.

Wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened to a player. It can do that to players and teams.

9-10 years ago the Sox went into the ASB a pretty hot club; after the break they started on the West Coast against the Angels and proceeded to get swept in a 4 game set, scoring 4-5 runs total. Then they went somewhere else and got swept again, effectively ending the season for them. Let’s hope we’re not going to see a repeat.

Why do I get the feeling the SOX FO would be happy to see the SOX go into a tailspin before the TDL, just so they wouldn't have to make a decision about their precious prospects? Maybe I'm wrong, but the FO hasn't done anything to make me think otherwise.
