Wink's a trooper, but he's not the answer for the rotation.

He’s still a solid piece. Good spot starter/reliever. Happy to have him

There's no question that if the SOX want to remain in contention, ownership has to allow Breslow to go after a starting pitcher.

I agree, but that very sentiment was the theme of roughly 50% of all posts on this board from December through March…

Agree. Agree too on getting a great arm. But meanwhile this 2024 Sox pitching staff with absolutely zero great arms is pitching their buns off. The entire Sox rotation is paid less than Jansen.

Yes but I prefer him in the rotation less often…

Well, that seemed almost inevitable. Today Winck has struggled with his control and inevitably has thrown some fat pitches right down the middle.

3-3. This being very pro-Yankees Fox coverage, we now get to see Dugo's dinger 10 times.

If you can say that about Winck, imagine what Yankees fans are thinking about Cole.

In fact, allow me to say that in he first three innings Winck, the reliever forced to be a starter, has matched the $324M Cole.

3d time through the Sox order--in the 4th inning. Duran still hasn't figured him out.

That knuckle curve by Cole is pretty darn good and makes that fast ball even more effective.

That pitch was well inside and hit hard. Winck might not get through the 4th.

Nice play by Devers for first out.

For once wouldn't it be nice for Bernardino to actually do his job and not give up runs counted against Winck.

Good thing Trevino had the double and was bunted to 3b--too slow to score on that grounder.

Good grief. Now Berardino has "throw it in the middle of the strike zone" disease. Thank goodness, a fly out to Rafaela.

The Sox have been a tad lucky today because our pitchers have served up some very tasty middle of the strike zone home run balls. Just one dinger by the Yankees in a ballpark created for dingers is slightly miraculous.

Abreu has developed a nice loop in his swing that makes it almost impossible to hit a middle-middle FB. He needs help

Devers gets the ball out on ol' King Cole and clearly gives Dugo the effective finger heading into 3rd base
