Speaking of the outfield; in 1984 all three starting OF's for the SOX had over 100 RBI. Rice, Armas and Evans. The SOX finished 4th with an 86-76 record.

I guess this year would be the 40th annivesary of that rare feat.

HP ump wants to get done and go out in Toronto. If it is between the batter's boxes, it's a strike

Just informed that the SOX have 7 players with an OPS over .800. Most in the majors.

Yeah, most players with an over .800 OPS are in the majors

Pivetta helps the BP by getting 21 outs interspersed with a couple rocket shots, but overall a winning effort.

I'm guessing Vlad, Jr will be available for a trade by the TDL.

Or Bichette. There is no way they are keeping both so my bet is that they unload one of them

It looks like the injury bug which eliminated Story and Grissom, had a benefit. The Sox learned that Hamilton, Gonzalez and Valdez could all play to a functional; level, given enough reps. Along with Refsnyder, and McGuire , the bench actually shows good strength. Combine with the 3 or 4 young guys on WooSox/Portland for 2025/26, this group could be getting serious.

As often mentioned, maybe a couple pitchers could be added to complement the position players.

This optimistic assessment does not , however, cover 1B where Casas is missed. Bobby D and Dom Smith aren't the answer there

Agreed, although Smith has come on, recently... on O.

They definitely will have about 4 guys who could DH.

I'd try to dump Yoshida and go with Ref/O'Neill at DH and back-up OF.

I'd DFA or demote Dalbec, once Casas returns, but Smith and Casas both bat RH'd. (One could say which way Dalbec bats is of no significance, since he does not "bat." He K's.

DHam got hurt, and I hope it's not serious, but Grissom may not be needed, at all, if our middle IF keeps going like this.

Romy 2-3 w BB (now up to .717)

Valdez 0-1 w BB

DHam still at .776

Looks like Hamilton hurt himself swinging at a pitch. How would I describe this season's SOX team? Fast and Fragile.

This is getting absurd, the amount of players injured. DHam is like the back-up to back-up's back-up.

I don't know how the SOX can 'dump' Masa w/o eating a large chunk of his remaining contract. It was a gamble signing him and a lot of gambles just don't work out. No one knows that better than a SOX fan.

I had completely forgotten about Grissom. I'm sure the Braves are still laughing about that 'deal.'

Even paying 80-90% of what's owed might not get a taker, but I'd try.
