I've got no problem with solo's; I'm just interested in how many they'll hit this season. It is an unusually high number at this point in the season.

If definitely is.

Twice announcers criticize TB runner for not scoring from 3rd in the 9th. WHY? His run meant nothing; the two potential runners behind him are the ones that count. So he stayed right where he should have.

Another great win for the superb pitching staff, especially Criswell, who overcame those 2 runs in the 1st when the Rays hit him hard.

Unless it's one hell of a coincidence, Andrew Bailey must be a magician. Or maybe he dabbles in hypnotism.

Are those guys terminally stupid?

Could be. I believe it is also true that Cora was told to fire last year's pitching coach.

Devers' HR streak ends, but still 6 in a row is a SOX record and pretty darn impressive.

Actually, right now he's playing good all-around baseball. He singled and scored the Sox first (and crucial) run in the 2d inning. He was the lead guy in the double steal in the 8th. He made an excellent throw from foul territory to 2d base for an out in the 6th.

Either last night or Sunday night Wong caught a rebound (off the backstop) after a wild pitch and threw a one-hopper to Devers, who caught it and tagged the runner out.

He really has picked it up on O and D.

Hope he can do it for the whole year.

Well, one of them was Jim Rice, but in fairness, he seemed to realize that the only issue was that it cost the batter an RBI/

Thanks. I overstepped in saying terminally stupid.

The pitching, somewhat miraculously, is solid. The lineup needs to improve on O and D to make the Sox competitive for the postseason.
