He was DFA'd, which is a polite term for being fired.

I don't see any particular reason to be overwhelmingly polite with Faria lol

Faria got DFA already lol

Astounding how some guys get their chance and totally prove their inability to rise to the occasion.

The problem with Pivetta is that he won't be up for doing the same tomorrow night.

Almost the entire rest of the bullpen has had 2 days rest. I think we'll be OK.

Lost in all of the talk about Pivetta, Connor Wong has quietly had a hell of a game.

And well on his way to a full season of good work with a mixed bag pitching staff

Also somewhat unnoted is Bernardino's 2 innings giving up no walks and just a single. He set the tone for the game, Pivetta followed up in incredible fashion

Bernardino did a great job.

He has all season. Idk where he came from but he’s been amazing signing

Bernardino was apparently a waiver claim from Seattle. NO ONE else wanted him, which is wild. Quality left like that, and no one wanted him?

He was with the Tijuana Toros in Mexican League before Seattle used him, then gave him the DFA. Not a young guy at 31. Originally had a MiLB deal with Cleveland , before being sold to Tijuana. He actually called on teams in the Phoenix ST group in 2019 begging for a chance.

Glad he's making the most of his chances now! He's been rock solid for us

Climbing the ladder on the Jays next. Keep the line moving.

Just want to beat the Yankees for a wild card spot by one game, it will quiet a lot of people

I’d prefer it be by 10 games with the Yanks ending the season at or below .500.

They are going through a stretch like we did- finding different ways to lose.

I don't care if it was against the A's, Pivetta's performance last night was amazing.

Agreed.

Maybe some hot hitting team might have managed a couple bloop hits and maybe a hard hit, but his location and pitch movement were fantastic, last night.

He's put together a couple 2 month or more stretches with us in the past 2 years. Maybe this one will be his third and longest.
