No run if Wong wasn't running his ass off from the get go.

Can't help but like Wong's game. Glad he is on the team.

The minor league comps of lefthand-hitting Triston Casas and Seattle's Jarred Kelenic, who were born six months apart and who were taken out of high school with the 26th and sixth picks of the June 2018 draft:

TC 284 G, .269/.374/.485/.858

JK 289 G, .295/.369/.540/.909

Kelenic was nearly written off after his historically dismal first two MLB seasons but has rebounded with a 135 OPS+ and 1.6 bWAR so far this year.

It may take Casas a couple of years to get to Jarred's current level OR Kelenic might regress to Casas's current level......or not

Kike at SS ! A defensive move for the ages, especially after a big K PH'ing

Ummm yeah... don't get that. Hopefully he comes up clutch.

Except for all the broken lights and the bullet wound. At least Redford was wearing Ted's number.

Remember when Tony Perkins played the part of Jimmy Piersall in Fear Strikes Out. One could easily tell that Perkins had never played baseball a day in his life. He was much better as the owner of a motel.

Still don't know why a movie was never made about Ted Williams. John Wayne would have been perfect for the part.

I think Ted Williams was too complex a guy for Wayne to play. I also don't think his life was interesting enough to make into a movie.

Duh. That's what 'real time' means Max.

True, but I had to look it up. To "shoot" a movie or a scene also means the physical parts of acting, directing, camerawork, etc. So, for example, High Noon was shot in about 2 months (late summer, early fall of 1951).

Given the huge pay differential between MLB and MiLB , should a guy like Bernadino be grateful for a few MLB paydays, or resent the fact that he performs well , then gets a free ride west on the Pike? Or is he on a guarantee salary no matter where he pitches

He was a great baseball player, he was a great fisherman, and he was an ace in the Korean War and crash landed his plane. I'm pretty sure that's more interesting then, let's say, most movies about real people. Oh, I forgot about his secret visits to the hospital to talk to kids suffering from cancer and how he pretty much created the Jimmy Fund. You're probably right; it wouldn't work in a movie. It would have to be a 5 part mini-series.

Get the lead right here, Kike. I will eat all my words about your abilities

Actually glad i don't have anything to retract about Hernandez. Still marginal player

Real time' is defined as the time elapsed in the movie equalling the time spent watching it.

He could still be traded. The Dodgers may want him back.

i would question using Jansen twice today unless the Sox had the lead. That was a huge opportunity in bottom 8th to pull this one out.

Here comes a bunt to move the runners over

Didn't need the bunt because he can hit fly balls

Cora's booboo. Bad idea

It's not unusual to use the closer in a tie game, plus the fact that Kenley didn't really throw that many pitches in the first game. The sad truth of the matter is Kenley's best years are behind him and the SOX will never know when he'll be effective from game to game.

IOW, he's no longer the best closer in baseball.

If Duran ever hit a 3 run homer, this would be the time. Or he gets the Golden Sombrero. You choose carefully, Jarren

Wong makes a very good play on the foul to try and save Kenley's arm from Cora's abuse

Sheriff pitched in both games, and before today Jansen was well rested.

Never good when the closer is the most ineffective reliever in tonight's game. Oh well, just another Bloom pick-up that has the same chance of working out as it does failing. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Both points are good. Sheriff pitched in both games, and Jansen was well rested before today. He should not have been tired.

The problem these days is you can't be sure he will have good control or good stuff.

Hard to blame the batter when he's robbed by a very good defensive play. Onward and upward.

There's a long wait for Golden Sombreros; the factory in China is still way behind schedule because of our old buddy Napoli.
