Speaking of unpadded walls and who shows up? Fred Lynn.

I can still see, pre-Lynn, Gary Geiger at full speed do a header into that bullpen wall. Horrifying. Even as a kid, I was surprised there were no pads.

Wow. Gary Geiger. There's a name I haven't seen in a while.

The sheriff was surrounded by 3 bad hombres and he survived. Reminds me of High Noon.

I would never have the calm to be a manager and wait out an inning like that... I"d need a bull pen with 74 arms in it.

Geiger reminds me of Carroll Hardy who not only PH for _____________ but also for _____________.

Williams and Yaz. Classic trivia question.

But also Roger Maris, but I didn't want to hurt your head

Well said. I was going berserk watching Sheriff.

Neat. Don't forget Grace Kelly, who dropped one of the four.

Crawford 3 innings, Garza 1.1, and Sherriff 1.2. Not exactly creme de la creme, but the Rays have just 2 runs in 6 innings.

Tapia going for redemption.

But Casas will have none of it.

There's little point to criticizing Casas but he does fail to make contact ( not necessarily a hit) when it counts. Infield in and he can't touch the ball with a man on 3rd, one out

Baseball is a game of failures.

High Noon was actually shot in real time.

It was not, repeat not, "shot" in real time. Fred Zinnemann was great, but not that great.

The time elapsed in watching the movie, 85 minutes, was the same amount of time as the time depicted in the movie.

I forgot about Garza and gave Kutter credit for 4 innings. Well Kutter had a nice 3 innings.

Duh. That's what 'real time' means Max.

He certainly did. Now Bernardino gets a scoreless 7th.

Dugo and Devers are both hitless.

Still don't know why a movie was never made about Ted Williams. John Wayne would have been perfect for the part.

The Natural came close

Nice "double" by Devers, but they all count. That has to be an error

Give Wong credit, as a catcher, running hard on a 3rd out pop-up

The minor league comps of lefthand-hitting Triston Casas and Seattle's Jarred Kelenic, who were born six months apart and who were taken out of high school with the 26th and sixth picks of the June 2018 draft:

TC 284 G, .269/.374/.485/.858

JK 289 G, .295/.369/.540/.909

Kelenic was nearly written off after his historically dismal first two MLB seasons but has rebounded with a 135 OPS+ and 1.6 bWAR so far this year.
