I do know that Fisk wore #72 when he was a White Sox. It was his Red Sox # reversed.

 

72 was the highest number ever retired for a player, and it was for Fisk in Chicago. But the Cleveland then-Guardians retired number 455 to honor their fans for a string of 455 consecutive sell-outs..

I was having to do some outside work for awhile. We have about 5 acres of dry grass that needs mowing to reduce fire exposure. I tend to agree with your hitter assessment

Maybe Tapia takes a hike as he turns into the 5th Of'er, perhaps DFA'ed to see if anybody would trade for him. At this point I think Duran , going on 27 in Sept, needs to make or break . Going back to AAA doesn't much help him nor the team. I also guess that Duran could be available at the trade deadline, like a few others on the 40 man. Not advocating it, however. I hope he continues to improve

I still consider game 6 of the '75 WS the greatest game I've ever seen. There were three amazing things that happened in that game.

Sherriff is about to get lit up, this needs to be his last batter. True relievers do not do well beyond 20 pitches. He's at 27 pitches and failing

One thing that's never mentioned is that Turner has experience playing 2nd base. Duvall could be the DH.
