The Red Sox seize last place. This is a monument to Bloom.

Bloom is part of the problem with help from JH, but he can't be blamed for lack of production from two of his highest paid offensive players, and the invisibility of Devers for quite a while. He also can't be blamed for Story on the IL.

That was a tough loss.

Can't seem to get those 3 run jacks anymore. Guys come up with men on, and then homer when the bases are empty.

Every loss like this is a two game swing in the standing vs the team we are playing. Just flip one game each vs BAL, TOR & TBR and the records would look like:

64-56 TBR

64-56 TOR

63-59 BOS

62-59 BAL

I know, big if...

if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle, every aspect of this organization is off balance, no conjecture, no excuses, bringing Schreiber in was totally blind, how bad were the Orioles and now we can't beat them, nobody believes it but motivation and desire are big, Jays changed managers and a new attitude jump started them

The Orioles are not bad. They have the best record in the AL East since June 1 and are 42-28 in that time frame…

Umm, what do you mean "now" you can't beat them?

You've had a losing record against them pretty much all season...

N. Pivetta vs D. Kremer

Tonight's game will be played at Muncy Bank Ballpark in Williamsport, PA. Seating capacity of about 2400. Home of the Little League WS.

The game will be televised on ESPN.

It's getting late early for the SOX, so their only option is to keep winning. Until they're numerically out of the PO's, they still have a shot.

Go SOX!

I didn't realize that the sox were there to play an actual game.

I thought they were there to learn basic baseball fundamentals from the Little League teams.....

More brain dead unwatchable baseball by these bums. The ball hit Pham in a bad place-the glove.

Just can’t watch these bums when they don’t show up, when their heads are not ready to play

For a guy who continually claims that you can't/won't watch this team anymore, you sure watch a lot of games.....

"seize" last place??!!

They've had a mcguire-like grip on it for quite some time now.

Where have you been?

they are ahead of us in case you haven't noticed

Your aunt does have balls.

Where they are in the standings in relation to the sox has absolutely zero to do with your statement "now you can't beat them"

How are the Yankees doing?

Not very well lately.

But, last I checked, they are not in last place either.....

Interesting rhetoric, but dead wrong on the facts. The Orioles have been beating the Sox since April 29-May1, when they took 2 of 3, and a little later took 3 of 5. So taking 2 of 3 this time was about as expected.

Schreiber has the 4th best WAR, 1.7, on the entire pitching staff, including starters, and this game was winnable. Yes, he pitched the night before, but he is far from overworked. His previous two outings were Aug 16 and Aug 13. Indeed, he has pitched just 49 innings while Brasier, Davis, and Sawamura--who have not been anywhere near as reliable--have pitched 47, 50, and 47 innings to Schreiber's 49 innings. If anything, Cora and his pitching coach, no doubt thrilled with how well Schreiber has pitched this year, have been careful not to overwork him.

Yes, the Orioles were horrible last season, but even a blind man can see how much better they are this year.

Complete blame to Bloom for trading VAZ, while the SOX were still in the PO hunt. I don't blame Bloom for not trading JD; no team wanted him bad enough.

Give me a break. The Sox were 51-52 with Vaz and have been 9-10 without him. The Astros were 67-36 without Vaz and have been 11-9 with him.

On paper, the team improved for 2023 at the deadline. Considering the idea of being sellers was probably (or in my opinion certainly) the right thing to do, I'd say he walked the line well.

Does anyone really think trading Vaz is the reason we will miss the playoffs?

I'd say the play from the players we didn't trade (JD, Bogey, Nate, Strahm) is more of the reason we have sucked since the deadline.
