Bello needs to shut up all of us who haven't seen a homegrown stud pitcher in a long time. Best of luck and talent to him to get it done. Need to get a W

Duran

VAZ

JD

Bogey

Dugo

Story

Cordero

Arroyo

JBJ

Cora going with JBJ, instead of Ref. I think Cora does that just to pizz me off.

No Devers; that foul ball off his berries the other day must be more serious than it appears.

Edit -okay, I guess Raffy has a hamstring and a back.

If by 'homegrown' you mean Bello was not obtained from another major league organization, then the last successful SOX starter who fits that description was Clay Buchholz. He debuted for the SOX during the 2007 season. So yes, it's been a long time.

The rookie starter is showing a lot more gumption than the woebegone lineup that already has an error and a popup with men on 2d and 3d and 2 out.

Based on the 0-5-1 series record the SOX have versus the Rays coming into this game, I don't think it's much of a stretch to post the Rays own the SOX.

That the SOX beat them in the ALCS last year has to be described as a minor miracle.

Chubby Choi scores from 1b on a double off the green monster. Weak play by the outfield and infield getting the ball home.

This team is a cure for anyone that’s struggling . So lazy and uninspired . Bello is leaving pitches in the zone.

His strike % is under 60%.

Yes, Bello is getting tagged, but this is also one very weak Sox defensive team. Verdugo and Duran have negative DWAR's, and JBJ's is a flat 0. Arroyo at 3b bears little resemblance to Arroyo @ SS.

It's also continuing it's nonproductivity at the plate.

The whole AL east owns the Sox

Oh, and the one really solid defensive play by the Sox? Bello who grabbed a grounder, turned 180 degrees, and threw a strike to 2b to start the GIDP. He also wisely didn't trust Cordero on that soft grounder to the right and touched 1b himself.

We may be underestimating the rotation problems with Wacha, Eovaldi, Whitlock plus Sale and Paxton's long recoveries . Pivetta blowing up didn't help last night . Could not be in a worse set up schedule wise. Then the hitters go quiet and Devers has lower body soreness as they say in hockey

Enjoyed Jahmai's report on the wild 72 pitch, 5 walk, 3 hit, 8 out effort by Sale. When he does come back to the rotation he will need a couple starts to get up to 6 inning potential.

Eckersley didn't like it either

That was the situation where JDM used to launch a 3 run HR or at least a scoring double. What a weak bouncer, almost doubled up.
