Plus the fact the SOX also have Reffy, who, if Cora so chooses, could platoon with Duran at lead-off. Kike is definitely tradable.

The guy who almost single-handedly carried us through the playoffs to the World Series and hit something like .850 the second half or '21?

In the investment world, the statement is that "past performance is no guarantee of future returns". When he returns, we'll see if he has a reset button to turn it around.

I thought all you guys believed clutch was a repeatable skill.

Not myself, I decline to get into some of the esoteric debates on the forums . I think clutch may be more of a focused mindset when all others around you are losing their cool. It then allows a better chance at a successful outcome .

How does momentum come into play in the moment ? Answer: It doesn't in baseball.

Btw, do you remember Steve Pearce?

I remember Kike hitting 3 HRs in the 2017 NLCS, a couple HRs in the 2018 playoffs, a 3 run job in the one 2019 playoff series the Dodgers played before his heroics with the Sox.

Can or will he repeat it? I sure as hell don't know. But, I'd like to find out.

I think that you would agree the SOX could use at least one more good reliever. Bloom can either trade an established player like Kike or he can trade away some good prospects. You have to give up something to get something.

The thing is, most good players traded at the deadline are for prospects, not a rental like Kike, unless you find a competing tham with a surplus of RP'ers who is dying to get Kike.

Now, maybe a three way deal, where we give Kike to one team, that team gives prospects to a non-contender, and we get a solid RP'er could be possible, but I think we just trade a prospect or two for a RP'er or two, like we did with Robles & Davis, last season.

Maybe I'm dead set on trading Kike for stingy reasons like wanting to see Duran play more for the SOX. Ya gotta admit he's an exciting player who looks like he belongs.

I think clutch applies more to pitchers than hitters.

I'm not sold on Duran, period. On the other hand, the sucker is hitting the ball right now while the other outfielders, especially Kike, aren't hitting. So, while I'm also not sold on trading Kike, I would keep Duran in the lineup as long as he keeps hitting and getting on base.

I've mentioned this before because I really believe the Dodgers might be very interested in getting Kike back.

I admit that, but I have Kike ahead of Verdugo and JBJ, and he's the RH'd bat.

It would make more sense to trade Verdugo, except he has more team control. (THat team control could get us a better pitcher, too.)

They need a RP'er, too.
