There's been a couple of 'bloopers' in this game, but the biggest 'blooper' was the ball bouncing out of Renfroe's glove.

One of the best baseball 'bloopers' I'd ever seen was the flyball that came down and hit the top of Canseco's head and bounced over the fence for a HR.

How did Verdugo not tag on Kike's fly ball. Unbelieveable.

In the end, it wouldn’t have mattered. But it’s just another sign that these guys have either checked out or are just dumb.

Yep. Dumb I think. If its over his head he scores anyway. If he catches it he has to be tagging. I think whoever coaches base running should be fired.

I think it's a little bit of both.

Since it is hard to talk about the game, what does anyone think a 2004 Red Sox World Series T-shirt that was signed on the field after game 4 by Big Papi, Varitek, Ellis Burks and Bronson Arroyo would fetch on EBay or at auction?

Sox squander first and second no outs and now their #9 hitter doubles on an 0-2 count. This team is just inventing new ways to lose.

It's seems to be expected, now.

We are stuck in a defeatism pattern and can't get unstuck, until someone blasts us out of it.

Kike in CF and VAZ are the only 2 SOX players who have a dWAR of 1 or over. VAZ has a dWAR of 1.0 and Kike has a dWAR of 1.5.

A few days ago I mocked dWAR as it pertained to Renfroe; I thought it was too low. I was wrong.

That Renfroe is weak defensively should have been no surprise. Looking back over his career, he’s had 4 seasons where he’s played in 90 or more games. In 2017, he had 9 errors in 117 games. In 2018, he had 8 errors in 95 games. This year, he’s had 11 errors in 125 games. Only in 2019, when he only had 2 errors in 111 games did he not approach double figures. Even last year, he had 3 in 32 games.

This is all true and I was blinded by his great throw outs this season. In Renfroe's defense, pardon the pun, he has been more of a positive addition to this team than a negative one. W/o him overachieving offensively this year along with his number of outfield assists, the SOX would probably be making plans right now to play golf.

Call these guys the Solo gang!

They have to lead the majors in percentage of homers that are solo. I’m guessing a team like Toronto may have more solo homers by raw number, but it’s because they hit so many homers to begin with.
