We should be hitting Montgomery.

Completely disagree. At least against the Sox good hitters, Montgomery has them by the short hairs. He mixes up his pitches and pitch locations.

Changeup low and outside of the strike zone, so of course dipstick Vazquez, the master of passed balls, the chubby catcher who wants to steal bases, pulls the ball for an easy ground out to SS.

I mean they should be able to score a run.

This game is being played like it's in Yankee Stadium, not Fenway Park. We got the rain. We got good pitching by the Yankees pitcher. And we got the Sox lineup not supporting a valiant effort by rookie Houck.

He stinks. Our guy are off in their approach.

Season to date, sure, maybe he does stink. But tonight he doesn't stink one bit. The reason why the Sox hitters' "approaches" are off is that he is mixing up his pitches and location. His changeup is especially effective tonight against the Sox righty-dominant lineup.

If he stinks, what does that say about the SOX starting staff?
Our staff doesn’t scare lineups, but this kid Houck has good stuff. Eovaldi can dominate when he is on a good night. The rest are meh.

And I will take Houck’s stuff over Montgomery’s tonight too.

Houck is throwing great, no question: 8 K's and 1 unearned run in 4.2 innings. But he did give up back to back walks to start off the 4th. And let's not forget that he is going against the Yankees weakest lineup this season.

Montgomery is going against a much tougher Sox lineup which he has tamed. They came out like lions and tigers--see all the dingers they hit in their last 2 games-- and have been converted to pussycats.

If anyone is concerned with Bogey's recent slump, one should check out Babe Ohtani's stats since the ASB. 2-25 with 11 k'S.

The NOAA map says there aren't that many rain clouds in the area, so I guess the Yankees chaplain wrote out a weather prayer: rain, rain, don't go away, stick around for just one more day.

Houck has a good fastball and a great slider, which is ideal for a reliever. He needs, at least, one more good pitch to be a consistent starter.

Montgomery was very lucky in the third. Montgomery’s OPS against this current lineup is 771.

I agree with Ted, we should’ve hit this guy.
