Another big series. It’s very disappointing to lose 2 out of 3 against houston at home but you move on and try getting a winning streak going.

The last major change in baseball I actually liked was the DH. Every other change since I've not liked, including interleague play that initiated in 1997. I'm certain it was started because of money. Thank you, Capt Obvious.

And I'm posting this knowing how successful the SOX have been in interleague games.

I remember many years ago Larry King asked Ted Williams "who was the best player Ted ever played against?" Ted responded "Joe DiMaggio."

Larry King came back with "what about Willie Mays?" to which Mr Williams replied "I never played against Willy Mays."

I just liked the idea of neither league meeting until the WS.

I'm with you. Interleague games stink and it led to the downfall of the ASG with Selig hammering the last nail in.

And, of course, the ASG.

The all star game has always sucked, so trying something different may not have been a bad idea.

I love interleague play and wish there would be more.

I also think there should be a massive realignment of the divisions based on geography- something like this:

5 divisions

TOR

BOS

NYY

NYM

PHI

BAL

WSH

ATL

TBR

MIA

HOU

TEX

PIT

DET

CIN

CLE

CWS

CCubs

MN

MIL

STL

KC

COL

AZ

SEA

OAK

SFG

LAD

LAA

SDP

6 divisions

BOS

NYY

NYM

BAL

WSH

ATL

TBR

MIA

HOU

TEX

TOR

PIT

CLE

CIN

DET

MN

MIL

CWS

CC

STL

KC

COL

Add 2 team and go with 8 x 4:

Sox are 16-14 at Fenway and 20-10 away from Fenway.

I used to like the All-Star Game when it was just a game with the best players all trying their best, especially the best pitchers vs. the best hitters. Plus it's a neat mid-season break and dividing point. I was fine with it not having any more significance than that, but also fine with massive substitutions by both managers. It did not bother me when Selig or whoever wanted the winning team to get something, like the WS home field advantage, but I'm also fine if they only get the satisfaction of winning. Ted Williams leaping in the air while rounding the bases after hitting a ASG-winning dinger is what I think the ASG is all about. It's what Field of Dreams is about.

I too like inter-league play even though it can be unbalanced some years. It's especially neat seeing AL teams have to go without DH's and NL teams having to use one, depending on whose park they are playing in. It's also very cool that fans whose teams don't get to the WS very often now have a chance to see players from the other league, with and without the DH.

Richards vs Stripling

Hard to predict this matchup. Stripling started bad, but has been excellent for 3 games. Richards has the better overall ERA, but not at Fenway and not against the Jays. Jays are 18-16 on the road, 13-13 at home.

Is Fenway completely open now? Or, given the low attendance (24K vs. 37K capacity), are there still some restrictions?

No Bogie. Kike leading off, again.

1. Kike CF

2. Verdugo LF

3. JD DH

4. Devers 3B

5. Renfroe RF

6. Vaz C

7. Arroyo 2B

8. Marwin SS

9. Dalbec 1B

Ok, everyone, pay close attention to my commentary in the early innings, especially about how well the pitchers are pitching, the hitters hitting, and of course the likely game outcome. I am invariably wrong.

That's it, right there. Fastball on the outside corner, called strike. Problem is, he doesn't have the command to keep doing that.
